2011 RAFW Backstage Beauty Report: Yeojin Bae

Backstage at Yeojin Bae, hair director Darren Borthwick said he was inspired by the Yeojin Bae woman, who he describes as "strong, but still very feminine." He wanted the hair to reflect that so went with a dual-textured braided hairstyle that was parted in the centre. Hair was left loose at the front, pulled softly back into a braid and then really tightly braided at the bottom and set with Redken Hardwear Gel for a really strong finish. Lead makeup artist, Liz Kelch, was inspired by the fabrics in Yeojin's S/S 11/12 collection and translated the sheer, transparent feel of the fabrics into a nude palette with a pop of orange on the lips. There was no foundation used, just concealer, and a blend of essential oils was used as luminizer. Nails were a modern take on the French manicure, with a peach base, topped with a red tip.
