Shiseido artistic director Dick Page is one of the world's best makeup artists, creating to-die-for colour collections and Spring 2013 runway looks for Michael Kors, Narciso Rodriguez, and Marc by Marc Jacobs. Safe to say his skills are in high demand, which may explain why he's able to make only one personal appearance each year. During his recent day at Nordstrom San Francisco, he explained why beauty is a choice — and what you need to do to pull off red lipstick. (You've never heard advice like this. Trust us on this one.)

Our Favourite Shows from New York Fashion Week
Milan fashion week may be off and running, but before we forget completely about New York, we thought we’d pay tribute to the Big Apple by rounding up our favourite looks from the designers who showed their Spring/Summer 2013 collections in NYC. The overarching trend? A sense of modernity that manifested itself via modish ‘60s silhouettes, classic minimalist lines, sports-inspired fabrications and sci-fi finishes. Our pulses quickened after seeing the sculptural delights at Rodarte, we fell hard for Jason Wu’s whimsical way with navy blue tulle, then obsessed over Proenza Schouler’s snakeskin-spliced treats. Exclusive! Watch Natasha Bedingfield's Look Go From 0 to 60
One of the highlights of fashion week? Heading over to Natasha Bedingfield's suite at the Empire Hotel while she was being prepped by hairstylist Ricardo Rojas and makeup artist Celeste Duquesne for the Y-3 runway show. The singer was going for an '80s vintage Chanel look (think smoky eyes, bright lips, and expertly zuzhed hair) and told us that even when getting the red-carpet treatment, she mixes her Tom Ford True Coral lipstick with, well, everything. To see the full finished look — set to Bedingfield's "Touch" — watch our video now.
All About Anna Sui's New Take on Punk Beauty
Punk's not dead — just look to Anna Sui's Spring 2013 collection for evidence. From Siouxsie Sioux to Soo Catwoman, iconic punk women inspired the runway's cotton-candy-coloured hair and double-liner makeup look. Editor Jessica Cruel headed backstage with beauty legends Pat McGrath and Garren to uncover the inspiration. Watch now to find out more about this statement-making style (and to spot Karlie Kloss, Joan Smalls, Lindsey Wixson, and other big names in modelling, too).
Smoky Eyes and Photographic Inspiration at BCBG
The sex appeal of Helmut Newton's photographs inspired the designs of Max and Lubov Azria, whose models wore eyes rimmed with smudged kohl eyeliner. Their hair was blown out, pin curled, and let loose while lips were lightly coated with a pop of pink lipstick. We watched the beauty test before models took the runway in today's Beauty Book.
Rachel Zoe Cuts Her Bangs For a Brigitte Bardot Inspired Runway Look
Rachel Zoe’s Spring 2013 beauty look had rock and roll flair, with hair resembling that of Brigitte Bardot and makeup meant to appear effortless and natural, à la Kate Moss. The nails, while kept at a shorter length, were coated with a custom blend of polishes to create the perfect sorbet shade for warmer weather. See our interviews with Rachel’s backstage beauty team in today’s Beauty Beat.
Get the Look: Ellery's Gritty, Rounded Pony & Raw Makeup Look for NYFW
At a joint showing with Christopher Esber at New York fashion week, Australian fashion superstar Kym Ellery presented with long, gritty hair, with help from Headlines Hairpieces. Hair director Ryan Taniguchi used the extensions to add volume, resulting in a rounded ponytail that helped set-off the structured tailoring we've come to love in Ellery's designs. The makeup look was created by Lottie Stannard for Jane Iredale, and had an equally raw and edgy theme, with a focus on contoured cheeks and a wet brow. Click through to get the entire look.

New York Fashion Week Hair Wrap-Up: The Trends You Need to Know
For Spring 2013, the need-to-know looks are deep side parts and messy, just-woke-up waves. From 3.1 Phillip Lim to Rodarte, designers made strong statements by stepping away from traditionally pretty styles. That's not to say the season doesn't have more ladylike looks, though; look to The Row and Suno for new takes on the chignon. See these and more new hairstyles in our trend wrap-up. On Kirbie: Rebecca Taylor.
The Top Trends From New York Fashion Week Spring 2013
New York Fashion Week Spring 2013 has shown a landslide of trends to mull over — sporty references, sheer layering, powerful prints, bold stripes, and leather are just some of the trends we spotted on the runways of American designers like Jason Wu, Michael Kors, and Proenza Schouler. Additionally, there were a plethora of chic black and white colour combinations, '90s-inspired oversized silhouettes, and metallic sheens (we all love a little shine, right?). See our complete rundown of the top 10 New York Fashion Week trends — right here, right now.
