4 Fun Ways to Try the Two-Tone Nail Trend

0

While the two-tone nail art look is nothing new, as the celebrities featured above display, the style is still quite worthy to wear. Here are four fresh, fun ways to get in on the trend now.

  1. You've been framed: For Pink (upper left), a bordered manicure in black and orange gave an edgy finish to her all-black, cut-out ensemble. To re-create the technique, first paint the nails with your base colour, allow to dry, and then use a nail art brush to paint a border along the outer portion of your nails.
  2. Tip off: With her red nails and glittery gold tips, Zooey Deschanel (upper right) opted for a modern take on a classic French manicure — ring finger aside. Check out our how-to, 2012-style.
  3. Mirror, mirror: Jessica Biel (lower left) complemented her cap-toed Louis Vuitton heels with coordinating nails. To get the half-moon manicure, paint the nails with your base hue, and finish off by cutting metallic nail wraps into the proper shapes, sticking them right onto the free edge.
  4. Yin and yang: OK, so Katy Perry's black and white, yin and yang nail art (lower right) might not be the easiest to design at home, but with a little help from some YouTubers, nail stencils, or already-done-for-you decals, you can achieve the perfect balance of cool and mysterious yourself.
