Alek Wek Wearing Rainbow Eye Makeup in August 2010 Dutch Glamour

They may have lost out to Spain in the World Cup (yes someone did have to tell me that, I was not up at 3.30am; a girl needs her beauty sleep) but I'm giving The Netherlands props for their August issue of Glamour, starring supermodel Alek Wek. It's punchy, it's pretty and it's so hot right now. It's started with Derek Lam's Spring 2010 collection. Actually that's a lie. It started with the '80s. Then we had DL doing his thang, before Pat McGrath packed a punch with those Balenciaga brows, Dior couture recently busted out some asymmetrical blocks of eye colour and then somewhere along the way, Alek turned up sporting blends of yellow, turquoise, red, pinks and blue, from the socket to the brow. It a crazy look, but certainly one that brightens up dull days. If you're scared to go total rainbow bright, then try a wash of NARS Duo Cream Eyeshadow in Burn it Blue ($78) or 66 Well Eyeshadow (approx $27.50) over your lids. LOVE.
