Alexa Chung Hair How-to: Teen Vogue
Ever the Tease: Alexa Chung Thinks Big For Teen Vogue

She may cite guys like Mike Jagger as her hair heroes, but there's something distinctly feminine and flirty about Alexa Chung's bouffant 'do in the November issue of Teen Vogue. Alexa — who shared her top five beauty essentials with us last month — rarely deviates from her tousled lob, but when she does, she opts for a '60s inspired style that's packed with volume such as this. It's easy to replicate. Start off by spraying your hair with dry shampoo to get a matte texture, then part hair in the centre, sectioning off a fringe that goes about four inches into your part. Pinning this aside, separate the rest of the hair in two sections horizontally using the ear as a guide. Backcomb the top section to create volume and then begin to style all the hair (save for the fringe) into a chignon at the nape of the neck. Unpin the front and pull a few strands over the backcombed height to ensure it doesn't look messy. Finish with hairspray.
