American Apparel: Taking It Too Far With Naked Nail Polish Ad?

NSFW! American Apparel Nail Polish Ads: Creepy or Cool?

Call me a prude, but do these ads look toned down to you? Hmm. Didn't think so. Risqué and racy are words that spring to my mind. "Creepy" and "out of hand" are what the Twitterverse is calling them. In the past American Apparel (the company behind the ads) has had lots of slapped hands — and even a $10million lawsuit from Woody Allen — doled out to them, so when they recently talked about toning down their ad campaigns, we said, "about time." But, seems they've done a total 180 and decided to go all out on a nail polish and panties ad — showing a topless model painting her nails on a naked mannequin. Riiiiight. There's also an ad that features Eva in her underwear and a tank top exposing stubbly underarms. But compared to Diane who is climbing a tree knickerless, she's pretty tame. What do you think of the ads: are they artistic and A-OK or do you think they're totally unnecessary and should be banned?
