BCBG Fashion Week Hair Messy Bun Tutorial

How-To: BCBG's NYFW Quirky Ballerina Bun

2

Harry Josh created these whimsical buns for BCBG's Fall 2010 show. They were inspired by "the models themselves, who would come into casting and quickly pull their hair back into a bun. I really wanted to create a look that a woman wearing BCBG would sport herself."

Keep reading for the how-to. . .To create the style, Harry began by applying John Frieda FRIZZ-EASE® Take Charge® Curl-Boosting Mousse ($15.99) to already-dry hair, then blew it out some more, using his fingers instead of a brush to separate and create texture. Once he'd re-dryed, he secured the models' hair in a low ponytail and added John Frieda Root Awakening Strength Restoring Smoothing Lotion to their ends. (This product isn't available in Australia, so try John Frieda FRIZZ-EASE® Straight Fixation Smoothing Creme ($16.99) instead.) He then wrapped the pony into a twisted bun, leaving the tips of the hair sticking out in a chic fringe that, Harry says, "really completed the look and made this low, classic bun a modern style."
