Taylor Swift walked the red carpet at the Fragrance Foundation Awards in New York, where she received the top honour, the fragrance celebrity of the year award. Wearing her latest scent, Taylor by Taylor Swift (which debuts September 22), she divulged what perfumes she grew up with. And how does Britney Spears play into the mix? Watch to find out.
Cate Blanchett has served as the muse for Giorgio Armani, frequently wearing his creations on the red carpet, but now her role is expanding into the designer's beauty brand, too. The actress was recently confirmed as the new face of Armani fragrances. "I have known and admired Cate Blanchett for many years," Armani told WWD. "As I was developing the Sì project, defining the fragrance and imagining the bottle, I instinctively thought of her, and of the passion that can be perceived behind her impeccable manners and confident look — a seductive combination that fully respects the spirit of my new perfume." The chypre fragrance mixes notes of cassis nectar, freesia, and vanilla.
The contract will include a print magazine campaign as well as a short film and digital ads. All the fanfare is slated to roll out this August (starting in the UK). Cate will serve as the first celebrity to represent Giorgio Armani fragrances, which has relied on models in previous years. "With my very first paycheck as an actress, I bought an Armani suit, and I still have it and love it," said Blanchett. "For me, fragrance contains memory, the scent of your mother, your friends . . . I think fragrance is a really subtle but important way in which women express themselves and express who they aspire to be." And who better than the woman who inspires Armani's fashion designs to also front his fragrance offerings?
It's easy to imagine that the life of a young model in New York City is glamorous and fun, but there's a healthy dose of unpredictability that goes along with it. That's exactly what Laura Love (above centre) is learning, having recently traded her California lifestyle for the hustle and bustle of the Big Apple. "My life is anything but typical lately," she said with a laugh. And a lot of the liveliness has to do with Love's latest work as the face of Vera Wang's new fragrance, Be Jeweled. "My favourite part of the experience was working with the team," she said of the beautiful ad campaign. "We shot in California, which was nice for me because I'm from there."
One of the things that keeps Love focused during the unpredictable days is a rigorous ballet practice schedule. A classically trained ballerina, Love attends class twice a day when she isn't travelling. "It gives me a kind of structure that modeling can't," she says. Her time backstage in the ballet world also gave Love a more practical skill: an above-average grasp on doing her own hair and makeup.

Jennifer Aniston may have some of the most envied hair in Hollywood, but the actress herself once had a hair crush of her own. "I've been that person who brought in a picture to a salon. 1. On her skincare routine: Nina spends much of her days on the Vampire Diaries set in full hair and makeup, so it makes sense that she takes her skincare routine very seriously. "Even when it looks like I'm not wearing much makeup, I totally am. So, as soon as I'm done on set — I don't even wait until I get home — I'll use a makeup wipe, wash my face, and then use a hot towel. I use it to let my skin breathe, let the pores open up, and then I put tonnes of moisturiser on."
2. On her mum's beauty advice: Mother knows best, right? "My mum told me once that if you put an egg in your hair, it will make it super shiny." In fact, Nina's mum is onto something — our favourite DIY hair recipe masks serve as further proof.
