Children getting manicures and pedicures

How Young Is Too Young to Pay For Pedis?

1

I had a mani and pedi yesterday next to a six-year-old. I wasn’t at a sixth birthday party; I was at a nail salon, as a paying customer, having my nails done next to another paying customer who just happened to be six.

I found it a little freaky to be honest. It’s not that she was badly behaved or that I didn’t use to beg my mum to paint my toenails with my Tinkerbell polish when I was her age. It’s just that I know my mum would’ve drawn the line at paying for a professional pedi for me when I’d probably smudge it in the sandpit later.

I must’ve been 14 or so before I paid to have my nails done. Somehow I don’t think my six-year-old crush would’ve noticed if I had nicely painted nails or not. He was more interested in worms.

Do you think children should have professional manis and pedis?
