Michelle Williams has come a long way since her days as Jennifer Lindley, opposite Katie Holmes, on Dawson's Creek. Her long wavy locks have been swapped for a soft, platinum pixie-crop. And her procelain skin is looking as fresh and young as ever. She tends to keep things simple on the makeup front, making a nude lip and smoky eye her signature look. The actress turns 33 today! Katie Holmes showed off her fun side during a visit to Late Night With Jimmy Fallon on Friday. She swung by the show to talk about her Broadway play, Dead Accounts, which is open in previews now. Katie and Jimmy got down to business with a few minutes of charades, and Jimmy asked Katie about the possibility of a Dawson's Creek reunion with her former co-stars Michelle Williams, Joshua Jackson, and James Van Der Beek. She said, "I love everyone from the show . . . we have kind of talked about it here and there. But we're like, 'What do you do?' Because our last episode, Michelle's character passed away. Maybe we'll go on vacation — that will be fun — and just film it!"
Michelle Williams makes a light and bright cover girl for Interview's May issue. She appeared in the magazine to promote her movie Meek's Cutoff, her recently released indie film about settlers in the West during the 1800s. Michelle donned oversize dresses and bonnets for the big-screen project but was photographed in more contemporary, ladylike looks for the accompanying spread. Michelle opened up about her experience filming in the desert, her time on Dawson's Creek, and the way she chooses roles.
- On her Dawson's Creek experience: "One of the best things, and something I'm grateful for every time I walk onto a film set, is my six and a half years on Dawson's Creek and the experience it afforded me in how to get comfortable with the camera. Best acting classes I ever took."
- On her costume in Meek's Cutoff: "The dresses . . . I miss that. The only part of your body left exposed to the sun were your hands. My hands have aged at a rate disproportionate to the rest of my body because of being out there in the hot sun for two months. You couldn't keep sunscreen on your hands; you were just sort of filthy all the time."
- On choosing her roles: "I don't think of it as building, or really even a career. It's just what appeals to me right now, without any real thought about how it's going to affect my future, or even how it relates to my past work."
Joshua Jackson put on his best oversized bowling shirt and headed to San Diego this weekend for 2010 Pacey-Con, a celebration of the "greatest television character in television history . . . ever . . . period" from his former show Dawson's Creek. Unfortunately, his celebration of all things Pacey Witter ran into a bit of a snag thanks to the much larger event going on next door: Comic-Con. Just when we thought we couldn't love Joshua any more, this video is awesome. He reads some fan fiction aloud, tries to break into Comic-Con to find "Pacey-heads", and reveals the real reason he works on Fringe is to fund his convention. Don't miss any of our coverage and videos from the weekend's panels—long live Pacey-Con!
It's funny to think just how far Katie Holmes has come from being little Joey Potter in Dawson's Creek. From the days of pre-ghd'd hair. Just like her former co-star Michelle Williams, she's come a long way. Now she's all about the softly textured lob, the ringlets or the sleek and slick fashion-forward 'dos. But one thing has consistently stayed the same: her nude makeup palette. Save for a few forays into smoky eye territory and a racy red lip, Katie's played it safe with neutrals.
