Demi Lovato showed a way for ladies with lobs to pull off this style by pulling her hair into a bumped-up French twist, while Miley Cyrus was seen sporting this voluminous coif with dark roots. Demi isn't afraid of a hair change, though. She chopped off her hair earlier this year, joining the swarms of celebrities who are already loving the long bob trend. Gwyneth Paltrow geared up to catch a flight out of LAX yesterday. She layered up in an army-inspired Current/Elliott coat and carried a Gucci bag for a flight to NYC. Gwyneth ran into a similarly dressed Demi Lovato on the plane and posted a photo of herself with the singer on Twitter. She wrote, "Apple, look who was on the plane!" Gwyneth has been on the go lately, promoting her latest cookbook, It's All Good: Delicious, Easy Recipes That Will Make You Look Good and Feel Great, on the West Coast. She was on hand to sign copies of the book at a Williams-Sonoma store on Friday and made an appearance at Barnes & Noble the previous day.
Before jetting off to continue her book tour in NYC and begin press for Iron Man 3, Gwyneth spent time with family and friends. She hosted a birthday party for her son, Moses, who is turning 7. She pulled double-duty yesterday, since she also dropped by the Tommy Hilfiger store opening in West Hollywood sans Ryan. Other celebrity attendees included Demi Lovato, who arrived at the event in a studded cast and crutches after she broke her foot earlier this month, and Kate Bosworth with fiancé Michael Polish.
Kim Kardashian also celebrated the new Topshop outpost with her mum, Kris Jenner, by her side. Kim recently caused a bit of a scandal when she and boyfriend Kanye West were involved in a security breach at JFK. According to reports, a TSA employee let Kim and Kanye skip airport security, so they could more easily transfer to their next flight. However, a TSA spokesman said that it was the employee, not Kim and Kanye, who was to blame for the breach.
Colour. It can be hard to incorporate into any makeup palette if you aren't careful. The rule of thumb for adding a dramatic tint is: all things in moderation. Take Demi Lovato's example and select one bright hue as an accent. She decided to go with a pop of blue at the US X Factor season finale this week. To get a similar look, apply a pigmented liner like CK One Color Gloss Eyecolor in Pop ($25) on two-thirds of the bottom lid, leaving the inner corners clear. Give the shape a cat-eye flick for added drama. Go for typical black eyeliner on the top lid to keep the look from getting too overwhelming. Finally, keep the remainder of the face in neutral hues. A colourful eyeliner is really the only thing you need to update your everyday makeup look for a party.

Miley Cyrus and Demi Lovato were among the performers and made their entrances in black ensembles, which proved to be the colour of the day — Stacy Keibler, Elisha Cuthbert, Ciara and Glee’s Amber Riley were among those dressed in black. Jenna Dewan-Tatum tweeted before her arrival, “I am in full fairy mood tonight,” and stood out in an ethereal baby blue gown complete with a jewelled headpiece. Another standout was Aussie musician DJ Havana Brown, who wore a neon yellow version of the self-designed low-cut dress she wore to the ARIA Awards over two weeks ago. This year’s VH1 Divas Live was hosted by American Idol alum Adam Lambert and included performances from Ciara, Kelly Rowland, Jordin Sparks and Pitbull.
