Flower Power: Magical Marigolds

Those of you with an interest in natural remedies probably already check The New York Times Well Blog religiously – I know I do.
I was particularly interested in a recent article by Anahad O’Connor that explored the healing powers of marigold extract (aka calendula) in skin conditions such as dermatitis and eczema.
I’d heard of its anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties, but was surprised to learn that as well as being an effective treatment for acne, a study has shown that women receiving radiation treatment for breast cancer found that calendula cream worked to reduce pain, redness and irritation.
