You may not know her as well as her parents, Kevin Bacon and Kyra Sedgwick, but you're going to be hearing a lot about Sosie Bacon in the coming months. Last night, it was announced that she will be Miss Golden Globe 2014, and POPSUGAR US was there for the big event. You'll find that Sosie is as sweet and charming as her parents, and she plays six degrees of Kevin Bacon just like the rest of us!
Fergie and Josh Duhamel rubbed elbows with Sean Penn, Kevin Bacon, and Rachel Zoe at Giorgio Armani and Vanity Fair's opening celebrations for the Paris Photo exhibition at Paramount Studios in LA yesterday. Other stars at the event included Minnie Driver and Emma Roberts, who is fresh off a whirlwind trip to the Tribeca Film Festival in NY and a stop in London to promote her new film, Adult World.
Fergie has been slowing down on her pubic appearances since announcing her pregnancy earlier this year. She stopped by an amfAR fundraising gala in Sao Paulo, Brazil, earlier this month, but she's been laying low since then. However, she still has new music coming out, including her new song, "A Little Party Never Killed Nobody," that appears on the Great Gatsby soundtrack. She isn't the only Black Eyed Pea who has new tracks coming out — Will.i.am released his solo album, #WillPower, on Tuesday. On the day of the release, Fergie tweeted, "So excited for the brother will.i.am on today's release of his new solo album #WillPower."
Lea Michele and Zooey Deschanel were joined by their fellow FOX TV friends as they celebrated the network's shows at an all-star party during the 2013 Winter TCAs in Pasadena yesterday. Lea's Glee co-stars Kevin McHale and Jane Lynch dropped by the bash, but Lea's on- and offscreen boyfriend Cory Monteith wasn't photographed at the event. Meanwhile, Zooey's sister, Emily Deschanel, who stars on FOX's Bones, colour-coordinated with her sister in a black cocktail dress. Mindy Kaling, Shannon Woodward and Nicki Minaj also swung by to celebrate.
The event followed a busy day of promotion for the stars, who sat on a FOX comedy panel yesterday. During the interviews, Mindy got big laughs when she joked around with Zooey about having "special privileges" on The Mindy Project.
Actors, comedians, talk show hosts and musicians came together for the Comedy Central’s ‘A Night of Too Many Stars’ benefit in NYC on Saturday night. Hosted by Jon Stewart, the talent line-up included Tina Fey and Amy Poehler, who auctioned themselves off to be BFFs to the highest bidders, Kevin Bacon and Liev Schreiber, who dressed up as butter and broccoli respectively, and Seth Rogen, who raised $18,000 each from two audience members who paid to go to the bathroom at the same time as him. Carly Rae Jepsen was also on hand to perform her hit “Call Me Maybe,” and Katy Perry sang “Firework” to the accompaniment of a young autistic girl playing the piano, providing the night’s most touching moment.
Miranda Kerr returned to California after a work trip to Seoul where she joined husband Orlando Bloom at the 15th annual Global Green USA Millennium Awards in Santa Monica. Aside from their first love of adorable son Flynn, the couple are both passionate about the environment and live eco-friendly lifestyles. Mark Ruffalo was honoured with the prestigious Entertainment Industry Environmental Leadership Award for his contribution to the fight for a ban against hydrofracking. More famous faces who attended to present include Kevin Becon, Kyra Sedgwick, Adrian Grenier and Modern Family’s Ed O’Neill.
X-Men First Class came out in cinemas yesterday, and stars January Jones and Kevin Bacon were in NYC last week to talk all about prepping for their roles in the blockbuster. Kevin admitted to being surprised at landing a role as a villain in the film, while January discussed the skimpy costumes her role required. Pregnant January Jones also touched on how she's getting ready for motherhood — check it out below!
Most of the stars of X-Men: First Class gathered for the film’s premiere in New York today. Three of the leading ladies, January Jones — who covered her growing baby bump with a draped blue dress — Rose Byrne and Zoë Kravitz, posed together for some girls-only photos before joining Michael Fassbender, James McAvoy, Lucas Till and Kevin Bacon for a group shot. Newly-brunette Jennifer Lawrence also stars in the movie and she made an appearance on The Late Show last week to talk up X-Men and The Hunger Games, but didn’t show up to today’s event. The prequel to the popular franchise is already getting positive reviews, with lots of praise for Michael, James and Jennifer.
The Office's Rainn Wilson is leaving his desk job to take on a masked alter ego in Super. Wilson stars as Frank, a married man whose wife (Liv Tyler) leaves him for a drug dealer (Kevin Bacon). Upset over the split, Frank decides to win her back by taking on the persona of Crimson Bolt, a violent hero who wields a wrench as his weapon. To help him in his endeavours, a girl from a comic book store (Ellen Page) offers herself up to be his sidekick.
Sound familiar? It should, because by all appearances, Super plays out like a ripoff of Kick-Ass. It's impossible not to see the similarities between the films' concepts or how Page's Boltie resembles Hit Girl. That said, Super looks more quirky-indie and, unfortunately, not as good. My other complaint: could we please see more Nathan Fillion? The actor only pops up once in the trailer. Take a look, and share your assessment after the jump.
Last night's Emmy Awards was full of pretty ladies and gorgeous guys, but the real hotness was centred around the evening's loved-up attendees. Longtime couple Kyra Sedgwick and Kevin Bacon showed sweet affection that rivalled Anna Paquin and Stephen Moyer's newlywed glow. Amy Poehler and Will Arnett brought lots of laughs, while host Jimmy Fallon and his wife Nancy didn't stop smiling on their way in. Neil Patrick Harris had David Burtka by his side, and Emily Blunt was there to support her new husband John Krasinski. Geoffrey Arend gave cute compliments to Christina Hendricks, Heidi Klum's main man Seal joined her on the carpet, and Elisabetta Canalis cuddled up to honoree George Clooney backstage. These pairs are some of our favourites, and now we want to know—which duo is your top pick from the big night?
Jimmy Fallon sang and danced as host of the Emmys in LA last night, and the fun kept coming for him and his wife, Nancy Juvonen, as they moved on to the Governor's Ball with other winners, nominees, and presenters. Mad Men's Jon Hamm raised a glass to his show nabbing its third consecutive best outstanding drama series award—do you agree with its win? New mum Amy Poehler stuck close to Tina Fey, while Kevin Bacon couldn't take his eyes off his lovely wife and best actress in a drama honoree, Kyra Sedgwick. Lost's Michael Emerson chatted with co-stars Daniel Dae Kim and Henry Ian Cusick, as The Vampire Diaries' Nina Dobrev chatted with best supporting actor in a drama Aaron Paul. He totally won us over with his cute press room excitement right after hitting the stage.
January Jones, meanwhile, cuddled up to her special date, Jason Sudeikis, in her show-stopping Versace gown along with Breaking Bad's Bryan Cranston. The Glee kids, like Mark Salling, Lea Michele, Matthew Morrison and Chris Colfer, celebrated Ryan Murphy and Jane Lynch's wins all together. We've got you covered for TV's biggest night—make sure to check out shots from the red carpet, exciting behind-the-scenes press room photos and the entire list of winners here!
