2011 SAG Awards: Get Jenna Ushkowitz's Makeup Look
Glee star Jenna Ushkowitz played up her prettiness with a super colourful makeup palette. To find out how to recreate the look at home, we spoke with makeup artist Patrick de Fontbrune, who created the look for Jenna.
Prep: Patrick began by moisturising Jenna's skin with La Mer Fluid Moisturiser ($165), then preparing it with MAC Prep+Prime Skin Base ($44).
Face: de Fontbrune used two shades of MAC Mineralize Satinfinish Foundation (NC 42 and NC 40, $48 each) to shade and highlight. On cheeks, he applied MAC Mineralize Blush in Dainty ($43), then highlighted Jenna's cheekbones. To set the makeup, he dusted her face with La Prairie Cellular Treatment Loose Powder ($130).
Eyes: After applying MAC Prep+Prime For Eyes on Jenna's lids, he dusted Dior Couture Colour Eye Shadow in INcognito ($99) all over the eyelid, then used a wet brush to apply it along the lash line. Using a fine liner brush, he drew a thin line of MAC Fluidline eyeliner in Blacktrack ($32) and finished with several layers of MAC Haute & Naughty Mascara ($42).
Bella's Xmas Gift Guide: Decadent Gifts for a Glamorous Gran!
I can't imagine ever tiring of beautiful things. It's in my genes. I have a glam Nan. And I intend to be one, one day. Far from being dowdy and sitting in a corner, glamorous grans are often the ones responsible for our love of beauty. I have a girlfriend whose grandmother taught her everything she knows about fragrance. And she knows a LOT. And it's impossible for me to use a hand cream around my Nan—she steals it right off me and claims that religious application of it is what leads her to constantly be asked if she's really old enough to have a granddaughter that's in her late twenties. So indulge her this Christmas with these gorgeous gifts. Some are exxy, some not so much, but whatever your budget, there's certainly something to keep a glamorous gran very, very happy this year!
Confession Corner: Beauty Don'ts That You Secretly Do
Even though I am constantly going on about beauty being fun and there being no rules, there are certain things that are frowned upon. Let's call them The Don'ts. Trouble is, like anything forbidden, you'll always find yourself doing them . . .
The Don't: Ironing with your ghd
Why you do it: Because the iron is all the way over there
The Don't: See a bobby pin . . . steal a bobby pin
Why you do it: Because someone's obviously doing it to you. Your collection should total at least 8,973 by now
Love It or Hate It: January Jones' Aquatic Style

June 8 marked World Oceans Day. Remember me telling you about it and La Mer's fancy limited edition blue pot? It's really quite a big deal, so GQ, Nautica and Oceana, the world's leading ocean advocacy organisation, threw a little party in its honour. In attendance was my BFF and fellow orange lipstick lover, January Jones. She's the Oceana spokesperson. So it would've been nice for us to talk about this sooner but man, have we been snowed under with awards shows. First there were the MTV Movie Awards, then the CFDA Fashion Awards, then the Glamour Women of the Year Awards. Now the Country Music Awards. Glam-o-rama. But anywayz, back to Jan. Are you digging her look? I love the soft and bouncy baby curls and that lavender shadow is the bomb. And even though I love her with a bold lip, the soft gloss and gentle wash of peach blush make it a winning day-to-night look for me. You?
