Proving the (ever-flattering) value of a well-chosen filter, Instagram keeps us up to date with what our favourite designers, models, bloggers and editors are doing/eating/wearing and buying on a daily basis. If you don't already keep tabs on our girl crushes Yasmin Sewell and Taylor Tomasi Hill, or aren't yet acquainted with Jennifer Hawkins' too-cute pup, we suggest you take our top ten must-follow-on-Instagram list as gospel. Though we must warn you, following these fashionable peeps may result in a serious case of wardrobe/life envy.

The start of the year is the perfect time to make a dramatic change to your look, and freshly chopped hair could be just the thing to scratch your new year beauty itch. The bob has made a return to the celebrity hair scene and this time it's very sharp and extremely edgy. Karlie Kloss is currently rocking the right-now-bob, as is Margherita Missoni, Leighton Meester and Phoebe Tonkin; but there's been more than a few over the years that we're looking back to for new year hair-spiration.

The Elder Statesman designer Greg Chait took home the top prize at this year's CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund Awards, winning a $300,000 cash prize and mentorship program with fashion industry leaders. Known for his luxurious handmade cashmere collections, Chait looks set for big things if previous fund winners such as Alexander Wang, Joseph Altuzarra and Proenza Schouler are any indication. Burberry-clad Emma Stone presented the top gong alongside fashionable attendees including designer Christopher Bailey, Miranda Kerr in coral and black Giulietta, Alexa Chung and Allison Williams in cut-out Peter Som. So stylish, hurts your eyes.

It was a bigger, and scarier, week than usual this time round in celeb land, and all your fave fashion and beauty stars were involved! Superstorm Sandy dominated the East Coast of the US, including events-hub New York, right smack-bang in the midst of Halloween preparations and excitement. While that stopped some from celebrating (Heidi Klum, for example), others made sure to keep up spirits by donning their best disguises — our favourites are Emma Roberts and Margherita Missoni, who went all out. Of course, down under, Halloween isn't quite as big a deal, so we had stars like Jen Hawkins, Ruby Rose and Jesinta Campbell filling our quota for glamorous parties and events to perve on. Best of all? We didn't even need to send a photographer — the thoughtful beauties did it all themselves!
