Original, Authentic, Candid: How Brad Elterman Captured Iconic '70s Style

What makes a style icon?

What makes a style icon? Fame? A unique look? After snooping these previously-unseen snaps from Brad Elterman's upcoming exhibition, Factory 77, we think such a title is dependent on time. Michael Jackson's smart tuxedo suit? We want it. The shrunken tee + stonewashed jeans from the Ramones' on-tour wardrobe. Still so cool. Madonna's black bustier? The perfect Saturday night solution. The trail-blazing Hollywood paparazzi's motivation was never the clothes when he was honing his candid, behind-the-scenes style of photography, but none the less we're taking sartorial inspiration from his amazing back catalogue of work. Unfortunately, we can't attend Brad's exhibition opening tomorrow night in LA, so we'll have to make do with these select few preview shots. Step inside and see why these stars are still icons in our eyes. Images courtesy of Brad Elterman and WWD.

Just yesterday we got a glimpse at pictures from Glee's upcoming Grease numbers.

Just yesterday we got a glimpse at pictures from Glee's upcoming Grease numbers. Now we have some shots from the show's tribute to Michael Jackson. Glee has tackled Jackson's songs before, but in a soon-to-be-aired episode, they're devoting a whole hour to the King of Pop. It's titled "Michael," and we have a few pictures featuring the characters in decidedly M.J.-like fashion and rocking dance moves that Jackson perfected. Check them out now!

Conrad Murray Found Guilty in Michael Jackson Case

Conrad Murray has been found guilty of involuntary manslaughter in the death of Michael Jackson.

Conrad Murray has been found guilty of involuntary manslaughter in the death of Michael Jackson. The jury delivered their verdict this morning at 8:17 a.m. after less than two days of deliberation at the Los Angeles County Courthouse. It follows six weeks of trial that have been closely followed by Michael Jackson fans, many of whom believed the doctor was guilty. Members of Michael’s family who were present in court today include his parents, Joe and Katherine, and his siblings Jermaine and La Toya, who tweeted on her way to court, “Verdict is FINALLY IN!!! I'm on my way! I'm shaking uncontrollably!” As a result of the verdict, Conrad Murray, who didn’t testify during the trial, faces up to four years in jail and could be banned from pracitising medicine. Michael Jackson died on June 25, 2009.

Michael Jackson’s life, music and legacy were celebrated on Saturday night with the Michael Forever tribute concert held at Cardiff’s Millennium Stadium in Wales. Artists who were inspired by the King of Pop sang some of his greatest hits in front of a crowd of 50,000 fans, including Christina Aguilera (“Smile” and “Dirty Diana”), Jamie Foxx (“Rock With You”), Ne-Yo (“Billie Jean”), Cee Lo Green (“I Can’t Help It”) and Leona Lewis (“Strangers in Moscow”). Members of Michael’s family were also on hand to perform and introduce acts, including his brothers Marlon, Tito and Jackie, who belted out “Blame It on the Boogie” by the Jackson 5, and La Toya Jackson, who sang “In the Closet.” A highlight of the night was when Michael’s kids Prince, Blanket and Paris took to the stage to introduce a video performance by Beyoncé. Paris said, “We’re very happy to be here on this special night to honour our father . . . She [Beyoncé] carries the torch lit by our father and it gives me great pleasure to introduce this woman.” The timing of the concert wasn’t ideal as it took place in the middle of Dr. Conrad Murray’s manslaughter trial, but it was still a great night filled with tributes to Michael.

Jay-Z Calls Beyoncé the "Second Coming" of Michael Jackson

It’s always sweet when one half of a celebrity couple praises their partner. One high profile couple who usually don’t talk about their marriage are Jay-Z and Beyoncé, but lately it seems like they can’t stop gushing about each other!

It’s always sweet when one half of a celebrity couple praises their partner. One high profile couple who usually don’t talk about their marriage are Jay-Z and Beyoncé, but lately it seems like they can’t stop gushing about each other! Beyoncé praised Jay-Z’s talent in Complex magazine, and in a recent radio interview Jay gave his wife one of the highest music industry compliments: comparing her to Michael Jackson. He said:

What I’ve learned from her is similar to what I learned from Mike [Jackson] — and I know that’s blasphemy to compare the two because Mike was such an innovator — but I think she’s like the second coming. You know, the hard work and dedication that she puts into her shows. It just makes you want to work harder at your own craft. She’s like a machine.

Jay-Z’s comments are undoubtedly sweet and no one can deny that Beyoncé is one of the best female performers of our time. But what do you make of the MJ comparison? Do you agree that Beyoncé is the “second coming” of the King of Pop?

Come Back Tomorrow For Live Grammy Awards Coverage!

Woohoo, the Grammy Awards are happening tomorrow!

Woohoo, the Grammy Awards are happening tomorrow! We’ve already taken a look at some of the amazing performances we can expect as well as reminisced about past Grammys. The great thing about music’s night of nights is that we’ll get fresh faces — no Natalie Portman or Colin Firth, as much as we love them (and they’ll probably be at the BAFTAs) — and it’s more like a party and concert than an awards show. We’re looking forward to seeing Lady Gaga, Katy Perry, Justin Bieber, Usher, Selena Gomez, Keith Urban, Gwyneth Paltrow . . . OK, we’re probably naming everyone on the attendee list! So make sure you tune into PopSugar Australia tomorrow for your ultimate Grammys fix!

Can’t wait till next week?

Can’t wait till next week? Neither can we. America finally got their fix of Glee after the Super Bowl last night but the big episode will only air here next Monday night, so naturally we started searching for a clip of the much-anticipated “Thriller/Heads Will Roll” mashup, complete with zombie-fied football costumes, horror movie makeup and Michael Jackson-esque dance moves. I know I don’t need to tell you more about it, so grab your headphones or turn up the volume and watch it for yourself now!

Listen to Glee's Full Versions of "Thriller" and "Bills, Bills, Bills"!

Are you ready for Glee’s post-Super Bowl episode, even though the Super Bowl doesn’t mean much to us?

Are you ready for Glee’s post-Super Bowl episode, even though the Super Bowl doesn’t mean much to us? I know I am. The hit show returned to our screens last night and while I’m glad our weekly Glee fix is back, I’m dying to see the new episode that airs in the US this Sunday. As we already know, the much-hyped episode is the first to feature a track from Michael Jackson, and the “Thriller/Heads Will Roll” mash-up (where Kevin McHale and Naya Rivera take the leads) is complete with zombie costumes and makeup. But as a huge fan of Darren Criss’ vocals I also can’t wait to see the Dalton Academy Warblers sing Destiny’s Child’s hit “Bills, Bills, Bills” in their usual a cappella style. We’ve already heard the previews so do you wanna listen to the full-length versions of both tracks? Thought so. Press play below!

Sneak Peek: Glee's "Thriller" Super Bowl Episode!

The Super Bowl is right around the corner in the US, but the Green Bay Packers and the Pittsburgh Steelers aren't the only teams going head to head that evening.
Pictures From Glee Super Bowl Thriller Episode With Cast in Zombie Costumes and Makeup

The Super Bowl is right around the corner in the US, but the Green Bay Packers and the Pittsburgh Steelers aren't the only teams going head to head that evening. On Glee, the New Directions will be fighting a battle of their own: gleeks vs. jocks. The show's heavily hyped, post-Super Bowl "Thriller" episode will reportedly centre around the ongoing war between the two social cliques, and we may very well watch it all go down on the McKinley home field. Check out these new photos, featuring the cast in some serious zombie attire as they recreate a rousing rendition of Michael Jackson's famous number (there are some Katy Perry blue wigs in there too!). But good luck spotting the stars — they're barely recognisable under the heavy makeup! Take a look.

We’ve heard previews of the tunes, seen sneak peek photos from the episode, and now we get to see some of the post-Super Bowl Glee action in new promos! The Golden Globe-winning comedy is returning in spectacular style after a hiatus that feels way too long (at least we’ve had Channel Ten screening repeats to get us through the holidays) with slushie attacks, stunts, new guest stars and, of course, the “Thriller” rendition all Gleeks are waiting for. We still have a few weeks to wait for the episode to screen on our TVs, but at least you can get a taste of the action in the video.
