CarriageWorks in Sydney's Redfern had high glamour thrown its way last night, when supermodel Naomi Campbell stepped out to launch new reality show, The Face Australia. The modelling contest will be kicking off on Australian televisions in early 2014, with Aussie models Cheyenne Tozzi and Nicole Trunfio joining Naomi on the judging panel. Last night, the three judges were joined by The Face's host, fashion photographer Georges Antoni, and famed US designer, Zac Posen. Zac spent time adjusting good friend Naomi's dress, allowing it to be shown to full effect; Cheyenne and Nicole were in on the memo and were also sporting long, flowing dresses. Hamish Blake and Andy Lee were the men of the moment at last night’s GQ Men of the Year event, held at the Ivy Ballroom in Sydney. The funny duo suited up in tuxes for the black-tie affair, telling the Daily Telegraph, “We were very honoured to be included in the awards. After both missing out on the Brownlow this year, we had every reason to think we’d miss out on GQ too.”
Hamish arrived with his proud and expectant wife Zoë Foster-Blake, and there were plenty more A-list stars who hit the red carpet. Naomi Campbell, in the country for the local version of The Face, brought some international glamour to the proceedings, and was joined by her fellow model mentors Cheyenne Tozzi and Nicole Trunfio.
Jessica Hart was fresh off the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show to accept her honour as Woman of the Year, and Russell Crowe was bestowed the Icon of the Year honour by Jack Thompson. Other winners and attendees included Jai Courtney (Breakthrough of the Year), James Magnussen (Inspiration of the Year) and Jimmy Barnes (Legend of the Year), who sported a black-tie version of a kilt for the event.
The event might actually be called GQ Men of the Year, but last night on the red carpet in Sydney, it was all about the ladies. Blonde beauty Jessica Hart jetted in for the event, and was joined by Nicole Trunfio, Naomi Campbell, Cheyenne Tozzi and more international A-list names.
Jessica Hart took out the 2013 Woman of the Year honour, saying "“I feel humbled – it’s so nice to be recognised at home.” While glittering party frocks and sexy fitted gowns were the outfits of choice for most ladies last night, Hart stood out in a plunging, menswear-inspired suit. Both Jessica Hart and Nicole Trunfio stepped out in a pair of similar, metallic-gold pointed-toe pumps.

Last night in Sydney, GQ magazine played host to some of the world's most famous models at the GQ Men of the Year Awards. Aussie beauty Jess Hart (who took out Woman of the Year) kept it typically relaxed, while The Face host Naomi Campbell opted for a soft, smooth blow-dry. There is perhaps no more iconic American designer than Ralph Lauren. So, we thought there was no better way to celebrate his 74th birthday than by looking back at how his classic sportswear has been winning the hearts of critics and shoppers alike for over 40 years.
Lauren's advertising imagery (much of it shot by renowned photographer Bruce Weber) has been creating an idealized and almost cinematic picture of American life since the early '80s, and in more recent years they've starred everyone from Naomi Campbell and Gisele Bundchen to Oscar-winning actress Penelope Cruz.
So today, as we don our polo shirts and concho belts in honor of one of the world's favourite designers, we're also taking a look at Lauren's most iconic ads. See some of our favorites, here in the gallery. Happy Birthday, Ralph Lauren!

The Novak Djokovic Foundation gala had the models mingling last night in NYC. Man of the hour Novak Djokovic had his girlfriend, Jelena Ristic, by his side to host the dinner honouring his foundation, which aims to provide sports activities, nutrition and better education to youth in his native Serbia. Despite losing the grand slam title to Rafael Nadal in the men's finals of the US Open on Monday evening, last night was a celebratory occasion for Novak, who had the support of a good-looking cast, which included guests Naomi Campbell, Camila Alves, Goldie Hawn and Nicky Hilton. A bevy of Victoria's Secret models like Adriana Lima, Candice Swanepoel, Toni Garrn — who is currently linked to Leonardo DiCaprio — and Karlie Kloss were also in attendance. Anna Wintour and designer Donna Karan also took a break from their busy schedules at New York Fashion Week to round out the guest list for the charitable evening.
Naomi and Goldie are clearly big supporters of Novak since they popped up for the East Coast gala after attending the foundation's London affair back in July. Goldie went solo for the Big Apple dinner but was joined by her daughter, Kate Hudson, for the festivities overseas where the mother-daughter duo ditched their heels to show off their tennis skills in their gowns. Goldie was able to sneak in a bit of tennis last night as well. Novak even jokingly instructed her onstage with a vintage racket.
