The Next Big Thing: BB Cream
BB Creams 101: Because They're Going to Be Huge
The BB cream craze started in Korea and Japan, but now they're finally hitting Australia and we couldn't be more excited. Similar to a tinted moisturiser, these creams can be worn solo or under your makeup, but they go the extra mile by offering heaps of skincare benefits. In short, they'll leave your skin radiant, even tone and texture, protect against UVA/UVB rays and even fight against acne.
When you put it that way, it's easy to see why they'll be so popular, right? And for a product that easily counts as a 5-in-1 we'd be willing to splash the cash but that won't be necessary as one of the first mainstream beauty brands to jump on the BB (which stands for blemish balm) bandwagon is Garnier, who recently launched the Miracle Skin Perfector BB Crème priced at just $13.99. It sure ticks all the boxes, offering 24-hour moisturisation and SPF 15, whilst correcting the complexion and adding a subtle glow to skin.
More on BB Creams . . .If you want to jump on the latest skincare/makeup trend, Erborian BB Crème au Giseng ($59) is another great option. The French-South Korean brand uses giseng to energise the skin, making for a radiant complexion. And in traditional BB cream style it combines moisturiser, sun protection (SPF 25) and foundation. We know that in the UK and Stateside Dior, MAC, Clinique and Estée Lauder have all launched BB Creams so expect local stores and counters to be packed with them soon. What do you think? Are you keen to try them out?
Stockists: Garnier (1300 659 259); Erborian is available at selected Myer stores.
