From the polish with the cutest name going around, I couldn't wait to try Hello Darling's Rockcandy manicure. The effect is almost like yummy hundreds and thousands on your nails! I used a colour from last year's Spring collection called The First Corsage ($18.95), and Millions & Billions Rockcandy ($24.95 when sold with the Wednesday lacquer). My base coat was Orly's new mini offering of Top 2 Bottom ($10.95), along with my old favourite, Sally Hansen Extended Wear Top Coat ($11.45) to finish. This one is super easy and quick, so click through to see how it's done!
As you may already know, for a product to be certified organic, it has to meet very strict guidelines set out by governing bodies like Australian Certified Organic (ACO). According to ACO, for a product to be able to call itself certified organic, it must contain at least 95 percent organic content. The People For Plants skincare range has a philosophy of transparency so you'll find the certified organic percentage on the front of each product. Handy! One more thing to note: the range was created in consultation with award-winning horticulturist and landscape designer, Jamie Durie. And that man knows his plants. . .
As a regular polish-wearer, my never-ending cycle of manicures has left my nails dry and prone to peeling, which is why I don't expose my nails to just any base coat. Butter London Horse Power Nail Fertilizer ($25) provides a perfect layer of nourishment for my worn-out nails. It's formulated with the medicinal herb horsetail to feed nails with nutrients, particularly silica, which is known to strengthen nails and help them grow faster and healthier. Wear it under your favourite polish, or wear it alone for a naturally glossy look. You can use it for as long as you need to help your nails grow out, but the directions indicate you should give your nails a break every four weeks of continued use. Medicine for your nails? Now you know the prescription.
When we find a red lipstick we like, it's definitely a beauty moment. Wearing the classic colour is the easiest way to sharpen your beauty look, and this one from Ck One Color has become a firm favourite. Things like texture, taste, ease of application and pigment are high on our red lipstick must-have list, and Ck One Pure Color Lipstick in Vinyl ($35), ticks all the boxes. It is part of the brand's Dark Matter collection, and has a semi-matte finish with an almost golden sheen. We've eaten a three course lunch with this lipstick on, and it didn't budge. Not one bit.
The fragrance industry sees so many new launches every season with plenty of bottles being discontinued, so celebrating the 10th anniversary of Narciso Rodriguez For Her ($125) is a big deal. As a longtime fan of this soft, sensual scent, it's easy to forget just how much this was a pioneering fragrance back in 2003. From it's black opaque bottle to the key note of musk, by description it sounds like men's cologne, but the designer himself was keen on pushing forward with all of his unconventional ideas for his first-ever women's perfume. His original vision paid off, and it has garnered quite the cult following. The blend of musks mixed with floral notes like orange blossom, osmanthus, and rose make this a warm, feminine scent that is sure to stand the test of time.
Brooklyn Beach Hair Spray is made with rosewater and jasmine, providing a delicious scent that's both floral and woodsy. This is one beach spray you'll want to wear all year round. The only thing that will give away this spray's Brooklyn roots is the healthy dose of volume you'll be sporting.
The product boasts its power on restoring hair from damage caused by chemicals and the unavoidable forces of nature (aka sun and wind), which makes now the perfect time to start lathering your tresses. I can recommend this product for anyone who has either given up on their dry, treated hair; or who just wants to add some extra moisture to their ends. Keep reading.
