Cellcosmet Arrives In the U.S.

Cellcosmet is a skin care line from Switzerland that's making its debut in the United States.

Cellcosmet is a skin care line from Switzerland that's making its debut in the United States. The company was founded by the owner's father, who ran a clinic where old Hollywood superstars, including Ava Gardner and Frank Sinatra, would come for cellular treatments. The clinic offered injections of live cells, which help rebalance and revitalize the skin and keep it looking young.

Cellcosmet's skincare line follows a similar philosophy. After seven years of development, the brand has developed a way to use live cells in its products. While other cellular-repair products used freeze-dried cells, Cellcosmet uses live, stabilized cells, which are purer and more powerful. It's like the difference between a cup of Starbucks and a mug of instant Sanka. This explains why the cost is so much higher than other skin care lines. To read more about Cellcosmet, read more

A Soothing Skincare Regimen

Since growing out of my break-out phase (for the most part), I haven't really been sure how I should be caring for my skin.

Since growing out of my break-out phase (for the most part), I haven't really been sure how I should be caring for my skin. If you're in the same boat, a good place to start is with Rodan + Fields specialized skin-care regimens. Started by dermatologists Katie Rodan and Kathy Fields—famous for their acne-fighting Proactiv brand—Rodan + Fields offers four regimens for different skin concerns, including Anti-Age, Reverse, Unblemish, and Soothe, which is the first one I decided to try.

I'm usually skeptical of these types of three-step regimens—like, how different can a special "soothing" moisturizer be from a normal moisturizer? But I have to say, I was really impressed with this set, which is designed to treat sensitive, irritated skin and facial redness. The package includes a soothing facial cleanser, a face cream, an SPF 15 sunscreen, and a hydrocortisone lotion to use as needed. To learn how Rodan + Fields won me over, read more

Darphin's "Haute Couture" Skincare at Fashion Week

For the second year in a row, Parisian skincare line Darphin set up a special Aromatic skin care bar backstage at the Zac Posen show.

For the second year in a row, Parisian skincare line Darphin set up a special Aromatic skin care bar backstage at the Zac Posen show. Models and celebs were invited to take a whiff of Darphin's Aromatic Care oils, while skin-care experts were on site to provide quick consultations about the right blend of products.

The idea is that Darphin's customized regimens are the skin-care equivalent of haute couture, and the products could be your one luxury splurge, much like a piece of Zac Posen clothing. (Posen is also said to be a big fan.) Because Darphin knows that everyone has individual beauty needs, the company offers five different oils, all of which are said to improve elasticity, renew radiance, and moisturize the skin.
