Yesterday legendary hairdresser Vidal Sassoon received a Commander of the British Empire medal (CBE) Knighthood from the Queen. It was a much-deserved honour for the hairdresser of swinging '60s London who turned his name into a multi-million dollar brand.
But the best bit of the story for me was him describing the Queen’s hair as “a beautiful colour.”
I don’t think anyone’s ever really said too much about the Queen’s hair before – fear of being put in the stocks – so I think it’s nice that a legend like Vidal has come out all guns blazing for grandma-chic.
The Telegraph also reports that the seasoned coiffeur has been trailed by a film crew for the past two years who are making a documentary about his life. And boy, what a life he’s had. As the man himself says, “I've had the most extraordinary adventure – a kid from the East End.”
But back to the Queen's hair, what do you think of it?
