We Chatted to Nicole Trunfio Backstage at the David Jones A/W 2011 Parade to Talk Beauty!
Nicole Trunfio Hates Organic Beauty; Was Called "Palm Tree"
When we caught up with David Jones glamazon Nicole Trunfio backstage at the David Jones A/W 2011 parade, she was chillaxing with a glass of champagne and keen to share her skincare secrets and top tips, plus a beauty blunder that left her with a nickname she still hasn't forgotten!
You look AMAZING, tell us how you keep your skin so fresh: I take fish oil daily, drink as much water as I possibly can and eat alive foods — I'm really into the macrobiotic lifestyle. I also take mineral supplements that are good for wellbeing.
Have you got any favourite beauty products? I love Laura Mercier concealer and tinted moisturiser and my absolutely favourite product at the moment is this Josie Maran Argan Color Stick. You can use it on your lips and cheeks, and it smells amazing. [It really does. Nicole insisted we smelt it and we both agreed it smelt like mojitos.] It's infused with Argan oil — I use that, too — and it's free from parabens and phthalates — lots of OS makeup artists use it.
Keep reading . . .Is that something that you look for then, organic and natural brands? No! I actually hate organic products. They sort of smell and ferment and don't last that long.
OK, then! Back to beauty faves, what else is in your bag? Rosebud Minted Salve for when I'm on the plane, to keep me fresh; NARS multiple sticks; MAC cream blushes and eye pencils — I love their eye pencils — and Chanel brow pencils. Chanel does the best brow pencils.
Have you always been so glamorous or are you hiding a beauty blunder in your past? There are SO many blunders! My mum is a hairdresser so I really used to experiment a lot. I used to get called "palm tree" when I was really young because I used to apply so much wax and my hair stuck up! What's yours, tell me yours!
That would be telling, Nicole. That would be telling . . .
