Hi, I'm Desiree and today I'm gonna give you 10 tips to help keep you looking beautiful in the winter time. Makeup doesn't hold up well to temperature changes. From the warmth inside to the extreme cold outside, it actually tends to break down your formula. So you want to choose something with a silicone base, which will help make it last all day and keep it from breaking down. I love to use Revlon ColorStay. This winter, choose a lipstick versus a lip gloss. Lipsticks tend to have beeswax in it, which is much more moisturizing versus the petroleum that's in lip gloss, and dries your lips out. Avoid using any makeup colors with too much red or pink undertones. The cool temperature change tends to bring out your skin's natural redness. Instead, counter balance it with cool earth tones. During the wintertime months, avoid taking very hot showers. This just tends to dry out your skin more. Instead, use tepid warm water and immediately moisturize out of the shower with a heavy cream containing Shea butter and some vitamin E. In the wintertime, our hands can get even drier, so it's important to give them that extra love and moisture. While you sleep, apply a heavy hand cream, followed up with one hundred percent cotton gloves. The best way to keep your hair and skin moisturized is to drink a ton of water. Don't forget to have 8 8-ounce glasses a day. Avoid going outside with wet hair. It freezes and breaks your hair off much easier. Hair tends to be more dry in the cold anyway, so avoid using too many heat tools. But if you must take a blow dryer to it, use a leave in treatment first. Avoid washing your hair too much.
