We're always treated to a bevy of beauties showing their best hair and makeup angles, and this week was a shimmery, shiny version. From Jessica Biel's stunning silver smoky eye to Dianna Agron's all over shimmer, these ladies' beauty looks had us keen to try something a little fresh. We fell hard for Olivia Munn's perfect hot pink lip (we've found a shade that's even better!) and Taylor Swift's golden glow . . . And then there's Kristen Stewart with hair so good, even she's smiling! There's a whole lot more to see (and steal!) in here, so get clicking through our gallery of the Top 10 beauty looks this week.
Our favourite models, singers and actresses have a whole world of hair and makeup magic at their fingertips — in the form of makeup artists and hairstylists! — so it's no surprise that every week we see a bunch of looks we want to copy right now. This week, we were treated to a bevy of homegrown beauties showing off the latest in makeup trends — from Jessica Mauboy's dark red lip, to Ricki-Lee's perfect smoky eye — at the ARIAs, while visiting star Taylor Swift wowed us with her pop of colour in a place we didn't expect. Overseas, there was even more inspiration, with Rita Ora rocking a glittery eyelid with ease, and Leighton looking stunning with her newly cropped 'do and a classic makeup look. There's much more, so click through the gallery and start trying these summer-ready looks today!
If there's one thing we know from looking at this week's beauty round-up, it's that the bold lip is a makeup trend that's here to stay. Alexa Chung, Rihanna and Kristen Stewart let their lips do all the talking, and we think it totally paid off for them. Going all the way when it came to staying natural, Lara Bingle gave us a lesson in how to do nude makeup the right way — and her couldn't take our eyes off her beautiful ice-blue eyes as a result. French actress Berenice Marlohe went the other way with some seriously heavy eyeshadow playing up her big eyes, while Ashley Greene went for a soft and feminine look. One thing they all had in common? They all looked beautiful. Click through the gallery to see who rounds out the top 10 and copy the looks at home!
Where to start this week? We had Melbourne Cup day kicking things off early in the week, where we saw all our favourite Aussie stars (plus a couple of international ones!) looking gorgeous as ever for the race that stops the nation. The next day, we were delivered the annual perve-fest that is the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show, and perve we did — on Miranda's makeup, that is! Then were was the beautifully-structured hairdo Marion Cotillard showed off, the divine burgundy lip rocked by a rebelious actress and enough shimmer and sparkle to shake up your entire beauty routine. Bright lips! Highlighter! Shimmery shadows! There were so many lovely looks this week, it was hard to narrow down a Top 10, let alone zero in on one little beauty factor. From Jennifer Lopez and her gorgeous glow and deep pink lip, to Amber Heard and those eyes, we kind of had our hair and makeup socks knocked right off — repeatedly. One Aussie actress looked exactly like a doll, so perfect was her look — the big baby blues don't hurt! — and here, we'll show you how to recreate some of it. There were other Aussies, too, at yesterday's Derby Day, who'll inspire you to try something new. You'll read how to highlight them cheekbones of yours (à la Emily Blunt), how to widen and brighten your eyes, and a whole lot more! Kristen Stewart's really been knocking it out of the park lately. Paired with what has become her signature hair look, her cat-eye liner couldn't have been more lovely — the jet-black lines accentuated her pretty green eyes beautifully in one of our favourite beauty looks this week. Of course, it wasn't just Kristen who wowed us! Other easy-on-the-eye stars like Amanda Seyfried, Doutzen Kroes and Kim Kardashian made us want to pick up some new beauty tricks quick-smart, while one singing superstar in particular has the red-lip look nailed like no other. Beauty took a step backwards this week, as many celebs opted for pared-back versions of their beautiful selves. Think bronzed skin, nude lips, natural hair and brows that do all the talking, courtesy of lovely Aussie ladies Rose Byrne and Lara Bingle. Love a bit of colour? Don't you worry! There were a couple of stars out this week sporting sexy lip shades we can't wait to get out hands on — like Kate Bosworth (who we chatted to in Sydney) in rosy coral. And just wait 'til you see the hair! From Kylie to Kate Hudson and Diane Kruger, there are many more celebrities whose beauty looks you'll want to steal, so get clicking and enjoy!
If you're a fan of red lipstick but don't want to wear a bright shade, then make like January Jones. The actress swiped on a deeper red to complement her vintage look at a Chanel event in NYC last night. This rich hue works best in a matte or semi-matte shade, so reach for a lipstick over a gloss. And for added hold, line the outside of your lips with a similar tone of lip liner and fill in about halfway to your mouth opening. Set your warm red off with a frosty white shadow and ample coats of mascara. Need inspiration for colours to use? Shop the look below:
