When the pre-order list for a product tops 5,000, it's safe to say that you're onto a good thing. Such was the case ahead of Yves Saint Laurent's Forever Youth Liberator launch in the UK earlier this year. Dubbed the "holy grail" in anti-ageing, the new range applies the science of glycobiology — the study of complex sugars (glycans) that are vital to the structure of healthy, youthful-looking skin — to its eight products, making it the first cosmetics company to use the pioneering research which has seven Nobel Prizes to its name. As we age, the quality and quantity of glycans decrease so Yves Saint Laurent has created a potent combination of three glycans, called Glycanactif, which will boost the skin's structure, health and vital regeneration functions.
