3 Steps to Perfecting a Pretty Pink Lip Like Kristen Stewart

Kristen Stewart was at Comic-Con yesterday talking about Breaking Dawn Part 2.

Kristen Stewart was at Comic-Con yesterday talking about Breaking Dawn Part 2. Sporting her signature tousled tresses, swung over one shoulder, Kristen's pink lip was a pretty addition. If you're looking to channel her look this weekend, here are a few tips to keep in mind.

Lip service: Just like skin needs to be smooth and moisturised for your foundation to look good, your lips need to be hydrated and flake-free before you even think about applying a lip colour. If they're really dry, use a lip scrub like The Lip Scrub by Sara Happ - Brown Sugar ($29.95) which will leave lips soft. Alternatively you can use an old toothbrush or Manicare Disposable Mascara Wands ($9.99) in circular motions over the lip to get a perfectly smooth pout.

Colouring in: As Kristen's lip isn't rich and creamy, your best bet is to use a lip tint for more of a stained lip effect. Try Smashbox Limitless Lip Stain And Colour Seal Balm in Petal ($27.95) or the aptly-titled Revlon Just Bitten Lipstain + Balm in Passion ($17.95).

Take two: Alternatively, you can create a stain effect with your current pink lipstick. Instead of applying it straight onto the lip as you usual would, instead get pigment from the bullet tip and press it into the lip using your forefinger. This creates a more-muted but longer-lasting look.

Red Alert: Lindsey Wixson Debuts a New Auburn Hue

Lindsey Wixson's bee-stung pout helped shoot her to model-of-the-moment status back in 2010 but now it's her hair that's taking centre stage.

Lindsey Wixson's bee-stung pout helped shoot her to model-of-the-moment status back in 2010 but now it's her hair that's taking centre stage. In the August issue of Vogue Japan — which sees the 18-year-old rock green and peach shadows — Lindsey's traded in her light brown locks for a darker, more auburn-toned hue. (You can also check it out in Numéro #134.) It's not the first time that we've seen her with red hair, Lindsey gave us some serious Karen Elson vibes when she posed for the Mulberry Spring '11 campaign in a fiery red wig. What do you think of it?

Marion Cotillard Looks Parisian Perfect For Vogue Paris

The August issue of Vogue Paris is dedicated to the City of Lights and its bevy of beautiful women so who better to grace its cover than Paris-born and bred Marion Cotillard.

The August issue of Vogue Paris is dedicated to the City of Lights and its bevy of beautiful women so who better to grace its cover than Paris-born and bred Marion Cotillard. The star of The Dark Knight Rises is quite the popular cover star for the coming month, also scoring the top spot on US Vogue and Marie Claire UK, but it's the French fashion bible that captured our attentions. Put Marion in a sexy smoky eye that glistens in front of Mario Sorrenti's lens, team it with a nude lip and garnet nails and you've got yourself one seriously chic beauty look, non?

Trouble Perfecting Winged Eyeliner? These Stickers Will Help!

We called it here first.
Glam by Manicure Couture Collection: Stick-On Eyeliner Tattoos

We called it here first. After we stumbled across Eye Rock ($11.35) stick-on eyeliner transfers, we said it wouldn't be long before other brands followed suit — after all we were devastated when Dior's super-limited edition Velvet Eyes version came and went in the blink of an eye last year — and now Glam by Manicare has. Next month the brand will launch its Couture Collection: two packs of velvet and crystal eyeliner tattoos. Hypoallergenic and easy to apply, they stay in place with lash glue which is included in the kit. They're a foolproof way to wear winged eyeliner if it's a technique that you've struggled with in the past. Will you give them a whirl when they come out?

Miley Cyrus Turns to President Roosevelt For Her Latest Tattoo

Miley Cyrus has added to her collection of tattoos — the 19-year-old already has a dream-catcher and an equals sign symbolising marriage equality amongst others — getting a section of a speech made by President Theodore Roosevelt in 1910 etched on her forearm. Miley showed off her latest ink as she left a Pilates class in West Hollywood on Tuesday. It reads: "So that his place shall never be with those cold and timid souls who knew neither victory nor defeat." The snippet is from a speech that the then-US President gave in Paris urging people that "It is not the critic who counts." Miley has faced her fair share of criticism over the years so it could be a symbolic message signifying that she's rising above it. Take a closer look at it now.

Walk the Line: A 2 Second Lip Trick to Ensure Your Application's Spot On

If you love rocking a bold lip as much as us, you'll no doubt be familiar with lip liner — it's the key to a long-lasting lip look after all — but there may be a few insider tricks that cK One Color's international makeup artist Jodie Boland — who counts Naomi Watts and Kristen Wiig amongst her clients — can teach you.

  • Play inside: Boland recommends tracing the lip liner slightly inside your natural lip line instead of outside as it's rare that the lip's outline is perfect.
  • Centre court: Start from the centre (the Cupid's bow) and shade outwards using light, feathery strokes.
  • Line up: After shading the lip with liner, check that your application is symmetrical by balancing the lip liner on the dip between your lip and chin. Using this line as a guide you'll see if your line is even. Do the same with the upper lip, rolling the liner horizontally down from the bottom of the nose until it rests (on an 180 degree angle) just above the peaks of your upper lip.

Trend to Try Now: Matching Your Lip Colour to Your Frock

Matching your lip colour to your dress isn't exactly a new trend — we loving revving up the red, teaming a scarlet lip with a co-ordinating gown for a fancy soirée — but it is one that we're starting to see more of as more and more makeup ranges add punchy pigments and bold brights to their line-up.

Nicole Trunfio is the latest star to take on the trend, teaming a glossy tangerine lip with a cute coral and black number at a screening of Trishna hosted by The Cinema Society. Keeping the rest of her look suitably pared-back (a simple wash of shimmering mink and messy high bun), Nicole is the perfect poster girl for this look. Thinking of trying it? Remember:

  • Don't go overboard: Being matchy-matchy can look dated. If you choose to co-ordinate your lipstick and dress, don't follow suit with the same nail colour.
  • Keep it simple: Unless your dress and lipstick are light in colour, keep your eye makeup simple to avoid competing with your bold dress and lips.
  • Mix it up: If you're trying to match a bold colour, it can look bad if the lipstick is unintentionally off. Experiment with a few shades on the back of your hand to ensure you get the right colour match.
  • If you're scared of the one-shade look: Get the effect of matching tones by co-ordinating your lipstick with an accessory for an unexpected pop of colour.

She's as famous for her ringlets as she is for her award-winning music but Taylor Swift has a unique approach to her hair. Whether she's wearing her strands curly or straight, Taylor confesses that she's a fan of the streamlined approach, only using shampoo, not conditioner or any other styling products. Whilst conditioner is recommended to help strengthen hair against damage and also leave it soft, shiny and manageable, there's no denying that Taylor's hair always looks great so maybe she's onto something. Do you always use conditioner or not?

What We're Sweet On: New Kate Moss Lipstick Shades by Rimmel

Good news, lipstick lovers!

Good news, lipstick lovers! Kate Moss is following up on her successful collaboration with Rimmel, releasing six new shades of Kate Moss Lasting Finish Lipstick ($9.95) this month. Flirtier and fresher than the original line-up, the new hues range from creamy nudes to punchy pinks. Infused with light-reflecting black diamond, the colours are not only seriously long-lasting but they have great colour pay-off and depth. The good news is they're not drying so even though they're technically designed as Spring colours, you can wear them this Winter without worrying that your pout is going to look parched. The classic black packaging adds Kate's signature rock'n'roll edge to what's otherwise considered a sweet and feminine offering and true fans will note that the super's signature has been updated to tie in with the key colour on offer. This cerise has fast-tracked its way to #1 in our lipstick wardrobe replacing old fave Red N Chic.

Coinciding with the release of its new waterproof mascara, Chanel is launching three mini colour collections for the eyes. Les Expressions des Chanel features three different colour palettes: Coral, Purple and Brown and each has a Les 4 Ombres and Illusion D'Ombre to its name, which, given our love for the originals launched this time last year, has us rather excited. Our pick of the bunch are naturally the two new Illusion D'Ombres in Vision, a gorgeous gold, and Abstraction, a rose peach. Take a look at the upcoming mini collection.

The Expressions des Chanel collection will be available from July 15. Stockists: 1300 CHANEL

How to Modernise an Old Hollywood Beauty Look in One Simple Step

Old Hollywood glamour is often a go-to red carpet beauty look for many modern-day stars.

Old Hollywood glamour is often a go-to red carpet beauty look for many modern-day stars. There's something beautifully elegant about a red lip teamed with either soft, brushed-out Veronica Lake-style waves or a more structured set curl as Jessica Alba, Kate Winslet and many more have proved. The latest is Diane Kruger, but note how she's side-stepped the traditional red in favour of a more muted coral-red which instantly modernises the look. Always one to make a look her own, Diane's simple lip switch makes this a more wearable look and a fresher style that's perfect for Spring. Want to wear it now? Try L'Oréal Paris Infallible Le Rouge in Always Apricot ($24.95) or Lancôme Rouge in Love 6H Long Wear Lipstick in 106M ($45).
