Taylor Swift donned a tight black and white dress to attend her first MuchMusic Video Awards in Toronto today. She was on hand to accept the favourite artist or group award after performing for her Canadian fans during her Red tour on Friday and Saturday. A blonde Demi Lovato was also a big winner, taking home the international video of the year award for her song “Heart Attack,” while Avril Lavigne, who was accompanied by her fiancé Chad Kroeger on the red carpet, won best international video by a Canadian artist for “Here’s to Never Growing Up.”
Performances during the show came from Demi, Avril, Ed Sheeran, Phillip Phillips and Psy, who co-hosted the awards. Australian Cody Simpson showed off his guns in a sleeveless denim vest before hitting the stage to hand out an award, and his fellow presenters included stars Brittany Snow, Lucy Hale, Shay Mitchell and Naya Rivera, who showed plenty of PDA with boyfriend Big Sean on the red carpet. A notable absence was Justin Bieber, who in past years has been a staple at the MuchMusic Video Awards.
