The festivities in Cannes are still going strong, so too nturally, are the incredible hair and makeup looks coming out of the French Riviera. Stealing the show just a little bit? Karlie Kloss, with her perfectly undone hair and darkly-lined eyes. Swoon. It wasn't all about Cannes this week, though — some of the stars of The Great Gatsby wowed us with their pretty and polished looks at the Sydney premiere, while Miley Cyrus was a punky standout at the 2013 Billboard Music Awards. You know by now that we love taking a sneaky little peek into the lives (and loves) of our favourite fashion and beauty identities, and this week they were more than generous with their time. Lara Bingle's love was in human form, and she shared a snap of herself leaning into boyfriend Nick Cohen as they jetted around New York's waterways. Also puckering up? Poppy Delevingne and Alexa Chung, who made Pharrell Williams the meat in their stylish sandwich, while Jennifer Hawkins and Kym Ellery shared more materialistic loves; namely, a pair of swiped sunglasses and a great mascara. And which style icon stepped out to support a Sydney rugby league team? find out all in here — get clicking!
Parties are always a big draw at the Cannes Film Festival, and one of the biggest soirees of all is the amfAR Cinema Against AIDS event. The top stars in the modelling and movie business converge to help raise funds for the cause, doing so in their most glamorous of hair and makeup trends. See how Jessica Chastain, Joan Smalls, and more stunned on the red carpet.
Megan Gale's second trip to Cannes was filled with red carpet glamour, sultry photo shoots and some killer dresses, but in this behind-the-scenes video, you'll notice that the L'Oréal Paris ambassador looks just as good off-duty as she does in an Alex Perry gown. From airport style (black hat and sunglasses are the perfect accoutrements when you've just come off a long flight) to a family photo-call with fellow L'Oréal ambassadors Eva Longoria, Doutzen Kroes, Cheryl Cole and Jane Fonda, this Aussie beauty sure did us proud at the most glamorous film festival event of the year. Watch the video above to step into a day in the life at Cannes.
Last night marked the 175th birthday for the iconic Australian retailer, David Jones. Many of our favourite Aussie beauties —including David Jones ambassador Megan Gale, Jesinta Campbell and Jessica Gomes — flocked to the black-tie, cocktail event to join in on the big birthday bash. Off-the-face hair and smoky, accentuated eyes were the trend of the night, paired with a glossy red or nude lip — timeless beauty classics!
The Great Gatsby celebrations continued in Sydney last night, with Tiffany & Co. hosting an exclusive dinner together with Vogue to welcome The Great Gatsby Collection of jewels arriving in Australia. From Elizabeth Debicki to Gracie Otto, our favourite local faces frocked up for the intimate art-deco setting at Neil Perry's Rockpool Bar and Grill, keeping their hair and makeup looks fuss-free to let the 1920's inspired collection truly shine. Zoom in below.
The lob has risen in the ranks to become the must-have haircut of 2013. This longer bob (hence, lob) can range anywhere from below the chin to just above the collarbone. Braided hairstyles are the perfect choice for any occassion for a handful of reasons; they keep your hair off your face, they transition flawlessly from work to the dinner table, and they're incredibly beautiful. At last night's The Great Gatsby premiere in Sydney, there was one star in particular who caught our attention: Elizabeth Debicki. Born in Paris but growing up in Melbourne, the 22-year-old actress' parents are of Polish and Irish descent — which explains that perfect alabaster skin. Aside from being a performing arts graduate, she's a trained ballet dancer, and it shows in the way she carries her 5ft 11 frame. She's graceful, elegant and can rock a 1920's hairstyle like it's nobody's business, which she does playing brunette Jordan Baker in Gatsby. We've decided it's time to cast the beauty spotlight in this up-and-comer's direction, so come with us as we track her best beauty moves yet!
