It was hard — no, make that impossible — to avoid the biggest celebrity news this week: the arrival of baby Prince George Alexander Louis. And why would you want to? We were all smiling from ear to ear at the sight of new parents Kate Middleton and Prince William as they stared in wonderment at their little bundle of joy, and it certainly felt like the world was in the grip of a very serious case of royal fever. In non-baby related celeb news, Jennifer Lawrence and her Catching Fire castmates caught up at Comic-Con, Diane Kruger and Joshua Jackson took their stylish love to the hills and hip hop royals Jay Z and Beyoncé donned all black as they honoured Trayvon Martin in New York City. San Diego played host to some of the world’s biggest stars over the weekend as Comic-Con took place, and guess what? Heaps of them were Australian. In further proof that Hollywood can’t get enough of Aussies, we spotted plenty of expats — many of them attending their first Comic-Con — talking up their new projects and meeting with excited fans. Phoebe Tonkin and Claire Holt were on hand for their show The Originals, while Sophie Lowe led the cast of Once Upon a Time in Wonderland. Hugh Jackman was part of the star-studded panel for X-Men: Days of Future Past, and Liam Hemsworth reunited with Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson and the rest of the Catching Fire crew to debut an exciting new trailer. Click through to see which other Aussies were at Comic-Con and what they were promoting!
Game of Thrones had an emotional third season, and no one is feeling the pain as much as Kit Harington, aka Jon Snow. We chatted with the actor at Comic-Con about what it was like watching the tragic In Memoriam video during the show's panel and which characters he misses the most. He also told us about his funniest fan encounter — watch to find out more!
Comic-Con has wrapped up, and we're taking a look at all the famous faces who showed up in San Diego. A-listers like Tom Cruise, Sandra Bullock and Scarlett Johansson all popped up to promote their projects, and the cast of The Hunger Games: Catching Fire plugged the much-anticipated sequel with Jennifer Lawrence, Liam Hemsworth and Josh Hemsworth reuniting on the red carpet to introduce the movie's full trailer. The stars of Divergent also hit the ground running as Shailene Woodley stayed close to her castmates Theo James, Zoë Kravitz and Maggie Q during the film's panel, while Andrew Garfield and Jamie Foxx stopped in to talk about The Amazing Spider-Man 2. Meanwhile, Kristen Bell showed up in style to get the crowd pumped for the Veronica Mars movie, and the X-Men: Days of Future Past panel brought out iconic stars like Hugh Jackman, Halle Berry and Ian McKellen. Another famous Ian — Somerhalder, that is — kept things festive before joining his castmates for the Vampire Diaries panel on day three. Click through to see all the stars at Comic-Con!
Comic-Con took San Diego by storm this past weekend, and that means two things: we got the newest teasers and sneak peeks at this year's most-anticipated releases in film and television, and we got to see all the hot guys who star in them. Theo James — a relatively new face on the scene — showed up for Divergent and Kit Harington popped up for Game of Thrones, while onscreen superheroes Chris Evans and Michael Fassbender showed up to support their franchises. Click through the gallery to see all the perennial crushes and gorgeously fresh faces we saw at Comic-Con this year!
Sure, there was some exclusive footage that only Comic-Con attendees got to see, but most of the footage that debuted at this year's event has already made its way online. There were hot brand-new trailers for movies and upcoming seasons of TV series, cute videos for shows like Game of Thrones, and some cool, Comic-Con-specific posters. Click through to see all the buzziest material that came out of this year's pop culture explosion.
Some of Hollywood's brightest and most stylish stars invaded San Diego over the weekend for Comic-Con. And while the convention regularly plays host to comic book and movie fans who dress up like their favourite fantasy characters, it's also home to some serious fashion plates. All eyes were on Hailee Steinfeld when she wore a Fall 2013 Kenzo dress, a red creation covered in an ocular motif, at an event for fans of her movie Ender's Game. True Blood's Anna Paquin wore a not-so-basic black ensemble to sign autographs, and Zoe Saldana attended a press event for Marvel Studios wearing a stunning blue jumpsuit. A look at those outfits and more style stars at the convention, here in the gallery.
While the atmosphere of Comic-Con is decidedly relaxed, that didn't stop our favourite leading ladies from stepping it up on the beauty front. From Hailee Steinfeld's epic manicure to Zoë Kravitz's dip-dyed hair, click through to see some of the top looks from the festival in San Diego.
Jennifer Lawrence pulled double duty to promote her films at Comic-Con on Saturday. She stayed close to Josh Hutcherson as they arrived for The Hunger Games: Catching Fire discussion, and wore a Proenza Schouler crop top while slinging her arm around her co-star and making funny faces for the camera. Later, Jennifer popped up at the massive panel for X-Men: Days of Future Past, which also brought out Hugh Jackman, Halle Berry and Jennifer's rumoured on-again boyfriend, Nicholas Hoult. News broke recently that the former couple has rekindled their relationship since production on the action flick began earlier this year.
In addition to her real-life romance, Jennifer is getting close to another hot guy on the big screen. The full trailer for Catching Fire was released on the weekend and shows Jennifer's character, Katniss, getting pretty close with Gale, played by Liam Hemsworth.
