When you're plagued with a persistent pimple and need to clear it up fast, never fear.

When you're plagued with a persistent pimple and need to clear it up fast, never fear. Here's an easy, two-ingredient spot treatment that comes together in no time. All you need is a small bowl of crushed mint leaves and oats.

Procedure:

  • Take a handful of fresh mint leaves and pulverise them with a pestle in a bowl.
  • Next, add moistened oats to the mixture and mix until it forms a paste.
  • Apply evenly to your face, or just to your affected areas, and wait 20 minutes.

Relax and take deep breaths during your waiting time; allow time for the oats and the oils to absorb. Apply twice a day as needed, storing the remaining mixture in a sealed container in the fridge.

DIY This Easy Gatsby-Inspired Nail Design

From the amazing soundtrack to the designer costumes, there's plenty of Jazz Age inspiration from The Great Gatsby, and I turned to the art deco style of the period for this striking nail design.

From the amazing soundtrack to the designer costumes, there's plenty of Jazz Age inspiration from The Great Gatsby, and I turned to the art deco style of the period for this striking nail design. This look is surprisingly easy to DIY; all you need are scissors, tape, and black and gold polish.

First, I applied two coats of Nails Inc. Black Taxi (for a similar look try: Opi Nail Lacquer in Black Onyx, $19.95) over my base coat. Once my nails were dry, I started cutting pieces of tape into small triangles to form the angular design. (You can see how the technique works from this starburst nail art tutorial.) I placed the cut pieces of tape onto the parts of my nail that I wanted to stay black, using three pieces of tape per nail to create four gold points shooting out from the base of my nail. Once the tape was laid down, I went over my nails with the gold-toned Deborah Lippmann Nefertiti (for a similar look try: Butter LONDON in The Full Monty Nail Polish, $22). I made sure to rip the tape off right after, or else you won't get crisp lines as the polish dries. Next, I added a little flapper flair with the glittering Deborah Lippmann Boom Boom Pow (Or try: Face of Australia Gliterati Nail Enamel in Dancing Queen, $4.95) on top of the gold polish. Seal everything in with your favourite top coat, throw on a sparkling headband, and you're ready to hit a Gatsby party.

A DIY Recipe That Will Give You Sexy Beach Waves in Minutes

Achieving those highly covetable beach waves doesn't mean you have to head to the ocean.

Achieving those highly covetable beach waves doesn't mean you have to head to the ocean. It doesn't mean you have to break out the curling iron or store-bought texturising spray, either. Fabrice Gili, creative director of Frédéric Fekkai SoHo, divulged his quick and easy recipe for carefree waves that requires only three ingredients (all of which you probably have sitting around at home).

  • Step 1: Take an empty and clean spray bottle and fill it up with 230g of water.
  • Step 2: Add two heaping tablespoons of kosher or sea salt to the water and shake.
  • Step 3: Mix a teaspoon of your favourite hair gel to the saltwater solution and shake it once again. This will give hair a little bit more texture.
  • Step 4: Spray a generous amount onto wet or very damp hair and do not brush through; finger-comb only, if necessary. Scrunch hair in your hands to help curls form, or just leave it be and let it air dry naturally.
