We all know that eBay is a great place to score deals — even if you do have to watch out for counterfeit makeup from time to time.
In France, however, the auction giant has had its wrist slapped for having a free-for-all market. A Paris court has fined the auction giant 1.7 million euros for allowing the sale of certain perfumes. Luxury group LVMH, which owns brands such as Dior, Givenchy and Marc Jacobs, argued that easy availability cheapens their exclusivity.
In Australia and the US, those brands continue to be sold on the auction site. I've personally never purchased perfume on eBay, but some say it's the best place for vintage scents. What about you, have you bought fragrance on the auction site?
