It was Fox's turn to promote all its new shows at the TCA in LA earlier this week. Everyone was looking for a big announcement on American Idol, but the executives had no official news and weren't looking to confirm or deny any rumours—soon they say, but no contracts have been signed yet. Jon Voight was excited to chat about Lone Star at the evening's Santa Monica Pier bash. He divulged that his family, including Angelina Jolie and her kids, are all doing great and he's excited to make a home in Texas for this show. When it came to Joshua Jackson, the hot topic of course was Pacey-Con. He said it was the result of an idea that he originally had, and he had fun seeing the reaction of everyone at Comic-Con. The Glee kids were graciously happy to chat. Lea Michele looked gorgeous and in great spirits, despite a car accident scare earlier in the night, while Mark Salling was all about the carnival games. The whole crew was thrilled about all their Emmy nominations. Celebrities and football legends took to the pitch at Old Trafford, London Sunday night to compete in Soccer Aid to raise funds for UNICEF UK. After a 2-2 draw it went to penalties and then sudden death, with the Rest of the World team beating the England team in the end—watch footage of the penalties after the jump! Both sides featured impressive lineups: donning the Rest of the World jerseys were our very own Simon Baker, Gordon Ramsay, Woody Harrelson, Mike Myers and Twilight's Michael Sheen. While the home team featured Dominic Cooper, Band of Brothers actor Damian Lewis and Robbie Williams as captain. There were famous faces in the stands too and Robbie shared a hug with Gary Barlow before kick off.

David Beckham and Gordon Ramsay took their places courtside to watch the LA Lakers narrowly lose to the Portland Trail Blazers at the Staples Center last night. A few seats down Adrien Brody cheered on the home team as well, showing off his legs in bright red shoes and camo shorts. After the game, David stood without the help of his crutches to chat with George Lopez. David has been hobbling his way around since his Achilles injury last month, but he hasn't let it stop him from regular outings with his sons and even a beach holiday with bikini-clad Victoria.

David Beckham returned to AC Milan's training centre in Italy yesterday after spending Christmas with his family and the Ramsays at home in the UK. The Beckhams enjoyed their time in England by watching a show and eating at Gordon's restaurant and Victoria treated David to yet another live present by buying him a bulldog as symbol of his spirit on the football pitch. Becks' return to AC Milan is part of his plan to play for England in the 2010 World Cup in South Africa and his dream looks ever more likely as English manager Fabio Capello has said: "If Beckham plays (in Milan) and if he is fit I will certainly take him to South Africa." Fingers crossed!
