Jessica Chastain arrived in Cannes over the weekend and she has already made a splash on the party circuit. She attended a Chanel and Vanity Fair dinner last night, alongside stars James Franco, Milla Jovovich and Paz Vega. James stopped by the dinner after hosting a party in honour of his ex-girlfriend Ahna O'Reilly on a yacht earlier in the day. Ahna co-stars alongside James in his directorial debut, As I Lay Dying, which also premiered last night at the festival.

As for Jessica, she is in the South of France to promote the 50th anniversary of Cleopatra. She will host a special screening of the newly restored project tomorrow and will also wear the famous emerald and diamond necklace Richard Burton gave to Elizabeth Taylor during the production of the film. Jessica stopped over in Cannes after wrapping up filming for her latest project, Miss Julie, in Ireland. Jessica posted photos of her visit to Ireland on her Facebook page, noting that it was "tough to say goodbye" to the Emerald Isle.

This Is the End Trailer: James Franco Is Having a Party, and All of Hollywood Is Invited

We've already gotten a tease of This Is the End, better known as the apocalyptic comedy starring just about every famous funny person, but the new red-band trailer provides a lot more footage, stars and laughs.

We've already gotten a tease of This Is the End, better known as the apocalyptic comedy starring just about every famous funny person, but the new red-band trailer provides a lot more footage, stars and laughs. We've got Mindy Kaling setting her sights on Michael Cera, Rihanna getting hit on by Michael Cera, and Michael Cera getting impaled during said apocalypse. OK, maybe Michael Cera is the star of this particular trailer.

But wait! There's also Emma Watson hilariously wielding an axe, and a pretty entertaining fight between the film's real stars (Jonah Hill, James Franco, Seth Rogen, Jay Baruchel, Danny McBride and Craig Robinson) about who gets to eat a Milky Way bar. It's all very silly, but I'm now officially excited for this movie, which opens on June 27 The trailer is NSFW, but check it out after the break.
