Matthew Goode stars in Stoker alongside not one, not two, but three Australian co-stars: Nicole Kidman, Jacki Weaver and Mia Wasikowska. It's a psychological thriller from Korean director Park Chan-wook, who was behind the well-received 2003 film Oldboy. Nicole plays Evie, Mia's mother in the film, and their world is turned upside down by the death of Evie's husband and the arrival of his brother Charlie, played by Matthew — check out the Stoker trailer. We caught up with Matthew at a press day yesterday, when he shared five surprising tidbits about Stoker — including the fact that it was written by former Prison Break star Wentworth Miller. Nicole Kidman and Mia Wasikowska Link Up For a London Screening of Stoker
Nicole Kidman and Mia Wasikowska reunited in London last night for a special screening of their new film Stoker. The Aussie actresses play mother and daughter in the psychological thriller, and linked up with their co-star, Matthew Goode, and director, Park Chan-wook, for the event. (Jacki Weaver also stars.) Nicole looked quite regal in a fresh-off-the-runway L’Wren Scott dress, a label she often favours at public events. She also had a fresh glow that may be the result of a loved-up month — new pictures just emerged of Nicole and husband Keith Urban enjoying a morning swim in Sydney earlier this month, and last week they had a date night at the Grammys and celebrated Valentine’s Day in low-key style. Stoker is out in Australia on Aug. 29.
Nicole Kidman Embraces Her Dark Side at Sundance With Stoker
Nicole Kidman showed off her wintry chic style in a fitted coat at the Sundance Film Festival premiere of her thriller Stoker (out Mar. 28) yesterday. Once inside the screening, Nicole showed off a very formfitting dress on stage. She was joined by her co-stars Mia Wasikowska, Matthew Goode and Dermot Mulroney on the red carpet. We got a first look at the movie's creepy vibe when the Stoker trailer was released in September, and yesterday the audience was finally treated to Korean director Chan-wook Park's latest. Nicole then went on to party the night away with fellow festivalgoers. Nicole is coming right off her glamorous Golden Globes night with husband Keith Urban, though he skipped out on the trip to Park City, Utah.
Scarlett and Keira Take a Trip Through Time For W's 40th Anniversary
Scarlett Johansson, Keira Knightley, Mia Wasikowska and Rooney Mara all have the honour of fronting a different cover for W magazine's 40th anniversary edition. Scarlett's repping the '90s, Mia went '80s, Rooney had '70s style, and Keira was modern with a 2000s vibe — see more photos of the actresses in the W anniversary edition. Keira, Scarlett, Rooney and Mia also did interviews with the publication to chat about style and famous ladies from their assigned decades. Here are highlights from Keira, Rooney, Mia and Scarlett in W:
- Keira on what she's hated style-wise in the last decade: "I think skinny jeans and micro-miniskirts are very unfriendly. I've been known to wear both, but on some days it seems like they were invented to make you feel bad about yourself."
- Rooney on an interesting '70s celebrity: "Style-wise, the person I'm most drawn to is Ali MacGraw. There was something about her that was very regal but very natural at the same time. We kind of modelled my character in The Social Network after her: I had a crocheted beret that was inspired by the one she wore in Love Story."
- Scarlett on an unfortunate '90s trend: "Turtlenecks — they're horrible. I tried to get into them because they are so practical, but they're just so unfortunate. Men don't like turtlenecks. I've never met a man who likes anything around his neck other than my hands."

Keira's modern, dewy skin was thanks to Chanel's Hydra Beauty Sérum while Rooney's structured '70s look was achieved using Chantecaille HD Perfecting Powder.
Aussie Stars Get Glam For the Cannes Film Festival
The Cannes Film Festival always attracts some of the biggest names in Hollywood to the Palais des Festivals et des Congrès — Brad Pitt! Kristen Stewart! Robert Pattinson! — but this year we’ve been especially excited by the number of Australian stars at the event. The Sapphires had the film industry buzzing over the weekend after the screening received a standing ovation, and as a result the world is discovering our home-grown talent like Deborah Mailman and Jessica Mauboy. Lawless also had a strong Aussie presence when stars Mia Wasikowska and Guy Pearce walked the red carpet with co-writer Nick Cave. Kylie Minogue and Nicole Kidman have also just promoted their respective movies — let’s take a moment to celebrate our stars stealing the spotlight in Cannes.

Cate Blanchett and Mia Wasikowska are heading to the big screen together in a project that will see them play lovers. They’ve been cast in Carol, an adaptation of the Patricia Highsmith novella The Price of Salt, which is about two women who fall in love in New York in the 1950s (Patricia also wrote The Talented Mr. Ripley and Strangers on a Train). Filming will kick off in London and New York in February 2013. Mia was just in Cannes to promote her latest film, Lawless, with fellow Aussie Guy Pearce and co-stars Jessica Chastain and Shia LaBeouf. Coincidentally, Cate is attached to a different film called Lawless, which also lists Ryan Gosling, Natalie Portman and Christian Bale in its cast.

The guys and girls of Lawless hit the red carpet for a premiere of their movie at the Cannes Film Festival last night. Shia LaBeouf, Tom Hardy, and Guy Pearce appeared on the Croisette in tuxes, while their leading ladies Jessica Chastian and Mia Wasikowska donned gowns. Special guests like Sean Combs and Bérénice Bejo walked the press line as well. Shia, Tom, Jessica and Mia had a busy day, chatting up the press and posing for pictures at a morning photocall. The film, based on the book The Wettest County in the World, is out in September, and the Lawless reviews are so far good. Shia spoke about Lawless and how it's a good representation of the movies he'd like to be making. He said, "I'm going to be doing things that I like for a while, until the business says, 'No, we need you to do this, or you can't work.'" Jessica has been especially busy around the festival since she has another film screening. Madagascar 3: Europe's Most Wanted premiered, she wore Armani for that event alongside costars in the animated picture like Jada Pinkett Smith and Chris Rock.
