Celebrities got into the US Memorial Day spirit when they stopped by producer Joel Silver's annual Memorial Day Malibu beach party yesterday. Guests included Diane Kruger and Joshua Jackson, Gwen Stefani and her family, Sean Penn, Kate Beckinsale and Tobey Maguire, who was back in family mode after wrapping up a whirlwind world press tour for The Great Gatsby. The group partied at Joel's Malibu home, which included a giant inflatable slide that was set up right on the beach to keep the kids entertained. Joel's annual party has become a major event for Hollywood's biggest celebrities — past guests have included Selena Gomez, Courteney Cox and Tom Cruise.

Fergie and Josh Team Up With Sean Penn at Star-Studded Art Opening

Fergie and Josh Duhamel rubbed elbows with Sean Penn, Kevin Bacon, and Rachel Zoe at Giorgio Armani and Vanity Fair's opening celebrations for the Paris Photo exhibition at Paramount Studios in LA yesterday. Other stars at the event included Minnie Driver and Emma Roberts, who is fresh off a whirlwind trip to the Tribeca Film Festival in NY and a stop in London to promote her new film, Adult World.

Fergie has been slowing down on her pubic appearances since announcing her pregnancy earlier this year. She stopped by an amfAR fundraising gala in Sao Paulo, Brazil, earlier this month, but she's been laying low since then. However, she still has new music coming out, including her new song, "A Little Party Never Killed Nobody," that appears on the Great Gatsby soundtrack. She isn't the only Black Eyed Pea who has new tracks coming out — Will.i.am released his solo album, #WillPower, on Tuesday. On the day of the release, Fergie tweeted, "So excited for the brother will.i.am on today's release of his new solo album #WillPower."

Emma Stone Joins Ryan Gosling and His Mum For Gangster Squad's Debut

Ryan Gosling and Emma Stone joined forces yesterday for LA's premiere of their film Gangster Squad (out Jan.

Ryan Gosling and Emma Stone joined forces yesterday for LA's premiere of their film Gangster Squad (out Jan. 10). It's the second time the co-stars — who also appeared in 2011's Crazy, Stupid, Love together — have played love interests on the big screen. When we asked Emma what she has in mind for her third film with Ryan, she joked, "Why? Do you have a script?"

Emma walked the red carpet solo in a red look and dramatic necklace from Lanvin, but Ryan had a special woman by his side for the debut: his mother, Donna. Ryan has been dating his The Place Beyond the Pines co-star Eva Mendes since shooting the film together last year. We also caught a glimpse of Sean Penn, who plays real-life gangster Mickey Cohen in the film, making a low-key arrival at the premiere. Emma and her co-stars may have had a late night on the town celebrating their new project, but she has an early morning ahead of her later this week. Emma will join forces with Oscar host Seth MacFarlane to announce the 2013 Academy Award nominees bright and early on Thursday (Friday 12:30 a.m. Australian time).

See Ryan Gosling Looking Hot and More Gangster Squad Pictures

Ryan Gosling, Emma Stone, Sean Penn and more star in next month's Gangster Squad (out Jan.

Ryan Gosling, Emma Stone, Sean Penn and more star in next month's Gangster Squad (out Jan. 10), and while we're excited that we finally get to see the drama about the LAPD and the mafia battling it out in 1950s LA, the real draw of this new batch of pictures is Ryan Gosling. Sneak a peek at the film and the sexy actor in period clothing (I'm certain that high-waisted pants have never looked so hot), along with the rest of the great-looking cast.

The Los Angeles County Museum of Art brought out a whole host of stars for its annual Art and Film Gala on Saturday night. Jennifer Aniston and Justin Theroux mingled with friends Drew Barrymore and Cameron Diaz at the event, where Salma Hayek and Kerry Washington also made appearances. Robert Pattinson suited up for the night out after returning to the West Coast from his Australian Breaking Dawn Part 2 press tour last week. He posed with Cameron, who made her latest red carpet run following her appearance at the opening of Rag & Bone's new LA store on Friday. Amy Adams met up with Tom Hanks, while Minka Kelly and her boyfriend Chris Evans posed separately on their way into the bash, which honoured Ed Ruscha and Stanley Kubrick. Florence Welch performed, and Evan Rachel Wood also took the microphone during the star-studded evening.

See Ryan Gosling and More in the Throwback Posters For Gangster Squad

It doesn't take much to get me excited about a Ryan Gosling movie, but a sexy poster certainly doesn't hurt.

It doesn't take much to get me excited about a Ryan Gosling movie, but a sexy poster certainly doesn't hurt. Gosling and the rest of the cast of Gangster Squad are front and centre in these cool new retro posters. There's Gosling as Jerry Wooters, Sean Penn as mob boss Mickey Cohen, Emma Stone as Grace Faraday, and more players from the corrupt LA streets. I love how stylised these are; they remind me of covers of old mystery novels. The movie doesn't hit cinemas until Jan. 10, but check out all the posters now.

Ryan Gosling and Sean Penn Play Cops and Robbers in the Gangster Squad Trailer

Have you always thought that Ryan Gosling would look dapper in a 1940s suit?

Have you always thought that Ryan Gosling would look dapper in a 1940s suit? Well, you've come to the right place. In the trailer for Gangster Squad, Gosling and James Brolin play LAPD cops who are trying to take down a notorious gangster played by Sean Penn. As expected, the lines between good and bad are a little blurred as we see that the cops aren't necessarily sticking to a strict moral code.

It's fun to see Emma Stone and Ryan Gosling back on the big screen together again — her character appears to be with Penn but definitely shacks up with her Crazy, Stupid, Love co-star. I'm already loving how stylish the film looks, right down to the cast's spot-on gangster accents. The film doesn't hit cinemas until October, but check out the trailer when you keep reading.

The stars came out to support Saturday night's Cinema For Peace event benefiting the J/P Haitian Relief Organization, which was founded by Sean Penn, in Beverly Hills. Leonardo DiCaprio showed up after attending the annual BAFTA tea earlier in the day while Demi Moore made an appearance alongside daughter Rumer Willis. Orlando Bloom suited up for the charity dinner as his wife, Miranda Kerr, hit the red carpet at G'Day USA's Black Tie Gala across town. Julia Roberts, Salma Hayek and Kim Kardashian were among the other attendees to watch Sean Penn be honoured with the Cinema For Peace Award for Humanitarian Action in Haiti. He was also recognised for his humanitarian work at last week's Critics' Choice Awards. Saturday's charity dinner for Sean's organisation raised $5 million, half of which was donated by Oprah Winfrey.

Nicole Richie and Diane Kruger both went with black, but mixed it up with sheer panels and hot cutouts at the 2011 UNICEF ball at the Beverly Wilshire last week in LA. The past weekend was a big one for Nicole, since she and Joel Madden celebrated their first wedding anniversary. Brooklyn Decker was sporting a glow, fresh from her Bahamas vacation with husband Andy Roddick last weekend. The model-turned-actress is also looking gorgeous in the first trailer for What to Expect When You're Expecting. Diane Kruger had her own tropical vacation recently: she spent Thanksgiving lounging in retro bikinis alongside hot boyfriend Joshua Jackson.

Scarlett Johansson and Sean Penn Split Up

Scarlett Johansson and Sean Penn have ended their romance, People reports.

Scarlett Johansson and Sean Penn have ended their romance, People reports. The actors had been dating since February, when they were spotted having flirty lunch dates in LA and travelled to Cabo San Lucas, Mexico together at the beginning of March. They were never public about their relationship but were photographed holding hands after leaving the White House Correspondents’ Dinner party in Washington in April, and in the same month Scarlett shot down pregnancy rumours after unflattering pictures of her jogging with Sean emerged. Scarlett’s ex-husband Ryan Reynolds recently opened up to Details magazine about the pain of divorce, saying, “I'm not out of it [the pain] yet. At all. But I sense that as I do come through it, there’s optimism.”
