We're counting down to the 2011 Emmy Awards, this time taking a look at the best of the beauty looks from last year. While the up 'do was a firm favourite on the red carpet, we gave our best tressed award to Glee's Lea Michele's rumpled sex-bomb locks and Claire Dane's big-barrelled, natural-looking curls. On the makeup front we couldn't move past Emily Blunt's wash of silvery-grey eyeshadow and Heather Morris' red lip. Scope all the hair and makeup looks and get excited for Monday's red carpet!

How-To: Emily Blunt's Primetime Emmy Awards Hairstyle

With her newlywed glow, it didn’t take much for Emily Blunt to look gorgeous at the 2010 Primetime Emmy Awards.

With her newlywed glow, it didn’t take much for Emily Blunt to look gorgeous at the 2010 Primetime Emmy Awards. Her stylist Laini Reeves, co-owner of the hot new Essensuals London Salon in LA, created a fresh yet sophisticated look inspired by the iconic finger waves of the ’20s to go with her Christian Dior gown. Emily’s shoulder-length, layered hair was styled into a beautiful wave design, falling slightly below the jawline, with shorter, pin-curled pieces at the nap of the neck.

To get the look, Laini shampooed Emily’s hair with Morocconoil® Moisture Repair Shampoo ($28.95), then applied a cocktail of Moroccanoil® Intense Curl Cream ($44.50) and original Moroccanoil® Treatment Oil ($49.50) from the middle to the ends of the hair.

A low side-part was made on the right, and hair was pin-curled in alternating patterns towards the left, and behind the right side. Pin-curls were made in the classic way, pinning three alternate rows of pin-curls (anti-clockwise/clockwise/anti-clockwise).

2010 Primetime Emmy Awards Trend Alert: Silver Foxes

The term Silver Fox is normally used to depict the more distinguished man, but as there were some seriously foxy ladies sporting silver shadow at this year's Emmys, I thought you'd allow me a little play on words, non?
2010 Emmys Beauty Trend: Silver Eyeshadow

The term Silver Fox is normally used to depict the more distinguished man, but as there were some seriously foxy ladies sporting silver shadow at this year's Emmys, I thought you'd allow me a little play on words, non? Merci beaucoup. It's normally used in the inner V to make eyes appear bigger and brighter, but celebs including Toni Collette, Heidi Klum and January Jones were all wearing a wash of the metallic shade all-over their lids tonight. Interesting. Very interesting. What say you: will you be wearing the trend and riding the silver wave soon? Or not so much, ey?

Anna Paquin and Nina Dobrev VAMP Up the Emmys!

Move over Edward, Bella and Jacob, there's a new kinda vampire in town — the TV kind!
True Blood Stars Hit the 2010 Primetime Emmy Awards

Move over Edward, Bella and Jacob, there's a new kinda vampire in town — the TV kind! The True Blood and The Vampire Diaries stars were out in force at the Emmys tonight with newlyweds Anna Paquin and Stephen Moyer leading the charge. Sexy Swede Alexander Skarsgård joined the duo on stage and also in the wings: Aussie Ryan Kwanten, Rutina Wesley and Kristin Bauer, both of whom wore NARS. Nina Dobrev was flying the flag for The Vampire Diaries solo, but when you look as radiant and flawless as her, you're cool to go it alone! Who was your favourite vampy star?

2010 Primetime Emmy Awards: Bling-a-Rama!

If there was a tiny bit of je ne sais quoi missing from today's Emmys, our fave stars certainly didn't disappoint when it came to accessorising.
Jewellery, shoes and accessories from the 2010 Primetime Emmy awards

If there was a tiny bit of je ne sais quoi missing from today's Emmys, our fave stars certainly didn't disappoint when it came to accessorising. The Emmy Award for the most divine jewels definitely went to Lorraine Schwartz adding bling to the red carpet on Kim Kardashian, Heidi Klum, Lea Michele and more! Glee starlet Dianna Agron also added some serious jewels, draped in over US$140,000 worth of Cartier diamonds. Not too shabby, eh? Check out our favourite accessories from today's Emmy's and let us know which impressed you most!

2010 Primetime Emmy Awards: Moody Blues Rule!

All shades of blue ruled the red carpet tonight, with a deep, rich navy being a firm favourite amongst a huge range of celebs.
Julie Bowen

All shades of blue ruled the red carpet tonight, with a deep, rich navy being a firm favourite amongst a huge range of celebs. Everyone from Mad Men stars to mini Modern Family cuties chose the moody hue as their statement colour of choice, mixed with everything from gold, to diamonds and sleek black. I'm totally crushing on Julie Bowen's deelish strapless ruffled dress; and True Blood star Kristin Bauer proved that even pale, icy blue can make a serious fashion statement. Peeps, today's Emmys was clearly brought to you by the colour blue. Go forth and stalk!

January, Christina and Elisabeth Ooze Glamour at the Emmys!

The guys and girls of Sterling Cooper (or should we say Sterling Cooper Draper Pryce) turned up the glamour 100,000 notches or two at this year's Emmys.
The Cast of Mad Men at the 2010 Primetime Emmy Awards

The guys and girls of Sterling Cooper (or should we say Sterling Cooper Draper Pryce) turned up the glamour 100,000 notches or two at this year's Emmys. Undoubtedly the most stylish stars of the night — even if they did face some tough competition from Glee — the stylin' show is so popular that even The Hills Lo Bosworth and Stephanie Pratt decided to pay homage to it in a little Mad Men makeover. Bless. Gotta say that they weren't a patch on the sex kitten January Jones whose look was created by Chanel makeup artist Rachel Goodwin. She used liquid liner and Chanel Inimitable Mascara, saying: "I was inspired by Irving Penn. A cool update on the late '50s." LOVE. You too?

2010 Primetime Emmy Awards: Worst Dressed!

As much as I wasn't impressed with a lot of gowns on offer tonight, I can't say I actually hated any of them, and that's always a good sign.
Tina Fey

As much as I wasn't impressed with a lot of gowns on offer tonight, I can't say I actually hated any of them, and that's always a good sign. While there's always the odd celeb who chooses princess-style ball gowns (fail), satin formal-style dresses (wrongzo) and waaaaay too much bling (naff-a-rama), I'm pleased to announce my Worst Dressed list is smaller than this year's Best Dressed. Hoorah! But let's not get too excited, we still have to point fingers at some of the question marks which hit the red carpet this evening. Pull up a chair, grab some chocolate, and get ready for some doozies.

Sofía Vergara and the Modern Family Crew Hit the Emmys!

It's no secret that I LOVE Modern Family.
The Cast of Modern Family at the 2010 Primetime Emmy Awards

It's no secret that I LOVE Modern Family. 'Tis hilar. Quite possibly the funniest thing on TV right now. So it was nice to see the cast all together for their first Primetime Emmys Award show! Columbian hottie Sofía Vergara brought the glam-o-rama with her and looked drop dead gorgeous, while I couldn't help but notice a little Selena Gomez in Ariel Winter who plays Alex. It's the eyes. You see it? Phil, Mitchell and Cameron were looking sharp, but kudos has to go to Manny (aka Rico Rodriguez) and his gangster get-up. Glad to see the boy's all-over bad hair day cover-ups! Check it out!

The Guys and Gals of Glee Hit the 2010 Emmys Red Carpet!

The Cheerios and the Glee Club joined forces on the red carpet, injecting a much-needed dose of Hot Young Glamour into the event.
The Cast of Glee at the 2010 Primetime Emmy Awards

The Cheerios and the Glee Club joined forces on the red carpet, injecting a much-needed dose of Hot Young Glamour into the event. The boys — Matthew Morrison, Mark Salling, Kevin McHale and Chris Colfer — led the charge looking sharp in their suits, while the girls all added their own style to the mix. Dianna Agron kept things soft and romantic, while Lea Michele went bold in blue. LOVE her look. And both Heather Morris and Naya Rivera sported statement lips. Check out all the Glee looks now and congrats to Jane Lynch! Woot! Which cast member had your fave look?
