When you're plagued with a persistent pimple and need to clear it up fast, never fear. Here's an easy, two-ingredient spot treatment that comes together in no time. All you need is a small bowl of crushed mint leaves and oats.

Procedure:

  • Take a handful of fresh mint leaves and pulverise them with a pestle in a bowl.
  • Next, add moistened oats to the mixture and mix until it forms a paste.
  • Apply evenly to your face, or just to your affected areas, and wait 20 minutes.

Relax and take deep breaths during your waiting time; allow time for the oats and the oils to absorb. Apply twice a day as needed, storing the remaining mixture in a sealed container in the fridge.

The Style Files: How To Be Classic and Modern At The Same Time

It's hard to dispute the ease of an LBD, the function of a trench coat or the practicality of a pointy-toe pump, but did you know that you can add timeless classics to your wardrobe without looking like a catalogue cliché?
How POPSUGAR Publisher Marisa Keeps Her Classic Style Modern

It's hard to dispute the ease of an LBD, the function of a trench coat or the practicality of a pointy-toe pump, but did you know that you can add timeless classics to your wardrobe without looking like a catalogue cliché? I've spent years honing my styling skills to encapsulate a look that blends fuss-free basics with modern design, and I can honestly say that my wardrobe is now filled with pieces that have a place in my past, present and future.

My formula to looking timeless yet on-trend is simple — I choose seasonal colours and silhouettes to update classics such as striped tops, denim and tailored separates, and I avoid wearing a "look" from head to toe. For example, I've added leather to my wardrobe this Winter, but I've kept the shapes streamlined and simple rather than sporty, as I know I'll get more bang for my buck with a pair of skinny rather than slouchy pants. I apply the same rule to my accessories barely-there gold and silver jewellery will always take precedence over anything too statement-making, which is why this season's PANDORA collection suits my aesthetic to a tee. Want to take a closer look at my personal style and the pieces I'll be adding to cart this season? Step right this way...

What Is Causing My Acne? We Have the Answers

Acne: the word gets thrown around a lot, but do you know exactly what it means?

Acne: the word gets thrown around a lot, but do you know exactly what it means? "Acne is a common skin condition commonly found in young adults," dermatologist Dr. Paul Jarrod Frank says. "It is a disease of the hair follicle and the pores that lead them to the skin." More than just the typical pimple, the word "acne" encompasses everything from whiteheads to blackheads to inflamed cysts. That's right — even though you may not suffer from huge zits dotting your forehead, those blackheads that plague you also count as acne. Get all of Dr. Frank's tips when you keep reading.

Facial Oil Is Actually Good For Oily Skin — Yes, It's True!

If you have oily skin, the last thing you want to put on your face is more oil, right?

If you have oily skin, the last thing you want to put on your face is more oil, right? Think again. Using the right oils can actually help moisturise acne-prone skin and balance your sebum production. "Plant and nut oils are ideal for moisturising an oily skin type," explains Annet King, director of global education for Dermalogica. "Essential oils from plants, roots, and flowers also have the added benefits of calming and soothing skin, while maintaining antibacterial and aromatherapy properties." In turn, botanically derived oils help to replenish barrier lipids that get stripped away during harsh weather conditions. And because they're lighter in texture, these antioxidant-packed types of oils won't clog follicles. See more tips on using facial oils on oily skin when you read more.

How to Pop a Pimple . . . If You Must

Not popping a pimple is one of those cardinal beauty rules that is often broken, but there are things you can do to lessen the damage if you do choose to squeeze.

Not popping a pimple is one of those cardinal beauty rules that is often broken, but there are things you can do to lessen the damage if you do choose to squeeze. Your best bet is to leave your extractions to the pros. But if you can't resist the urge, take some advice from celebrity esthetician Renée Rouleau. "If you are going to squeeze a zit or blemish, make sure you aren't making it worse and creating further damage to the skin," she says. "The issue isn't just the blemish itself, but the red, dark, or purple mark left over from picking can linger for months. So the goal is to get the infection out of the skin in the least invasive way." Learn how to do that when you follow these steps.
