Julianne Moore Lands A Massive New Beauty Contract!

We've long thought of actress Julianne Moore as one of the most beautiful women on the planet, so her latest gig totally makes sense to us. As of 2013, Julianne will be the new global brand ambassador for L'Oreal Paris, the cosmetics giant that's loved the world over. Specifically, Julianne, 52, will be the face of new product, Cellular Renaissance, an anti-ageing formulation that works towards cell renewal. Of the role, Julinne says, "I'm an actual user of the brand and it's hard not to be. Every modern woman shops everywhere for beauty, but for me it's mostly the airport or the drugstore. It's nice to be promoting something that is accessible to everyone." She joins other celebs like Jennifer Lopez, Diane Kruger and Lea Michele in being an ambassador for the brand.

Ooh, Well Lookee What We Have Here, Olay's New Celeb Face

Big news for Olay today: the skincare brand has signed Carrie Underwood as its first celebrity face in North America. "It's been over a decade I've been using some product from Olay," the country singer said at a press conference. "Olay is something that women trust. I now get to play more than I ever thought I'd get to play."

It's been a big year for the brand, who celebrated 10 years of Total Effects earlier this year. Carrie will appear in an ad campaign beginning in November and she'll then be the face of a few product launches in 2011. Olay is hoping that she'll help target the in-betweeners: those no longer in their teens, but not quite ready for anti-ageing products just yet.

While there's no word yet if her ads will make it to Australia, what do you think about the signing? She's a pretty lil' thing isn't she? And she does have gorgeous skin. If we could have an Olay brand ambassador in Australia, who would you like it to be?

Taylor Swift has joined the ranks of Drew Barrymore, Rihanna, Ellen DeGeneres and our very own Jennifer Hawkins to add CoverGirl as another string to that ever-expanding bow of hers. According to WWD, the country singer will be advertising a new product line that sees the brand move into the luxury market (without the exxy price tags, we hope). CoverGirl Top Dog, aka General Manager Vince Hudson, says: "Taylor is beautiful and inspirational with an effortless-chic style, making her the perfect person to represent a new, luxurious collection of products debuting on CoverGirl next year." Taylor calls herself a "huge makeup junkie," and says makeup is great because "you can put on a new character." I think it's a great fit; you?

Winner: Cyndi Lauper and Lady Gaga for MAC

We thought MAC had it in the bag the double singing of Cyndi and Gaga (could you get two ladies more suited to the brand? Methinks not). No one could surely trump that we thought. But then L'Oréal pulled the Krugermeister out of the bag and we did wonder if the most stylish lady around town could knock them off their perch. But MAC has to remain triumphant for they have scored not one, but two legends to do ambassador duties and I predict a fun-filled 2010 with these two around.

Runners up: Diane Kruger for L'Oréal Paris, Julia Roberts for Lancôme, Georgia May Jagger for Rimmel London and Frieda Pinto for L'Oréal Paris.

Lancôme Thinks Julia Roberts Is a Pretty Woman

Yesterday, WWD broke the exclusive news that Julia Roberts has been signed as the latest “global ambassadress” for Lancôme, joining fellow actresses Kate Winslet and Anne Hathaway.

Describing her as an “emblematic woman of her time,” Youcef Nabi, president of Lancôme International said: “Her exceptional talent, her radiance and her strong commitments perfectly echo Lancôme’s values. We are convinced she will embody the brand in the most sublime way possible.” OK, so with that introduction, I’d be a little nervous, but I’m guessing Jules will be able to handle it, she’s taken on Hollywood for the last 20 years after all.

Sadly that’s the extent of the juicy deets that Lancôme were willing to reveal; more news will come early next year. Hopefully it includes news of a press trip down under. But until then, we wait with baited breath. What do you think about the signing?
