Calling all students, artists, casual employees and, let's face it, mortgage owners, looking stylish for a workout doesn't have to mean spending heaps of money on the latest trends and big-name threads. If you look hard enough, you'll find some amazing stuff under $30, $40 and $50 — the key is keeping your colour palette basic and shopping stuff when its on sale. Think black, white, grey and navy blue; and Aussie retailers like Bonds, Cotton On, Target and more. Shop our budget edit inside.
We've been having a very intimate love affair with body oils this Winter — there's no better way to keep your skin hydrated and plump. Plus, using a rich oil after a bath or shower has that relaxing day spa vibe, and who doesn't want that? But the best reason to try one on for size? Financial. Oil is thick, so just a tiny bit goes a very long way and you won't need to buy it as often as a body moisturiser. Or, you can mix some with your favourite body moisturiser for extra hydration. Get into the habit of using all over your body every night, and you'll look younger, for longer! Here's some budget body oils we've tried and loved, and we think you will, too.
POPSUGAR: You’ve worked on a number of collections Peter, from the Morrissey brand to the Qantas uniform to this exclusive line with BIG W, tell us your approach for making each one unique?
Peter Morrissey: My approach to all of my collections is the same. It’s not only about how I make a person look but most importantly it’s about how they feel wearing my designs.
So you're on a budget, huh? Well rest assured, there is hope! The best thing about beauty products is you can buy decent stuff and still get change from a pineapple. Think strategically here, what does she really love and need more of? What will she actually use?
Nope, that headline is not a typo — and we're not tossing the term "designer" around lightly, either. Lately, a slew of our all-time favourite labels (Proenza Schouler, Balenciaga, Kenzo, et al) have been all over versatile pouches — purses, if you like — that we can't get enough of. Rarely coming in at over 20cm in length, these petite beauties are hard workers: use it as an everyday purse, a slim-line evening clutch, a cosmetics case, you name it, it'll work. There's never been an easier way to add a bit of designer luxe to your life. Your only problem will be stopping at one! See (and shop) our top 15 picks right now.
I've never been a big spender when it comes to clothing. Don't get me wrong — I love it all and tear through fashion magazines and websites like it's nobody's business. But I like to have fun with my style without blowing the budget. I don't have a clear-cut aesthetic that I stick to — some days I'll go for a more feminine look with a floral dress and heels, others I'll go edgy with an all-black look. I really dress for my moods, but overall you could describe my style as girlie, simple and light-hearted. Chain-stores allow me to try new looks, colours, prints and trends, and I like letting my style evolve that way. Once I've found a look I love, I'll then invest in some quality pieces to make it a long-term reality in my wardrobe.
Since my clothes are so varied, it's pretty essential for me to have a range of jewellery that can complement any outfit — I find that the latest PANDORA collection really nails that side of things for me. Whether it's thin, intricate silver rings that stack like a dream, pretty pendants or beautiful watches, classic jewellery is the one thing I splash out on, because it's so timeless. Want to see what I'm on the hunt for now? Let me show you. . .
