When it comes to celebrity hair and makeup looks we love, the awards season never fails us. In fact, it's been such a busy week for all our favourite beauties that we've had to bump our weekly top 10 round-up to 20 — yep, that's how good lookin' it's all been. In between the Golden Globes, where Miranda Kerr completely stole the show in her berry ensemble, the Art of Elysium Heaven Gala, where Revenge's Ashley Madekwe wowed with her clear skin and bright eyes, movie premieres and more, we were sitting pretty with a slew of amazing celeb looks to steal. And one thing was blindingly obvious: everyone loves a berry lip. Whether it's a bright pink strawberry tone, or the exact colour of a squashed mulberry, pink-toned lips still rule the beauty school. So many looks to steal, so little time! You better start clicking now . . .
Kristen Stewart showed off her vampy style — and smile! — at the On The Road premiere at the AFI Fest in LA over the weekend, putting her spin on the hottest colour to hit the runway for Winter 2013, oxblood. Her statement deep red lips were matched with a metallic burgundy eye, and while we don't usually encourage playing up both your lips and eyes at the same time, Kristen pulls off the look with ease. A side swept, textured and knotted hairstyle, along with rich burgundy nails, completed her red carpet look. Check it out up close (with zoom!) in our gallery.
While blue hair may be having a moment in the fun, when it comes to makeup, orange- and gold-toned shadows are having a moment in the sun. We pretty much already expected the tangerine-inspired cosmetics trend to take flight thanks to it being Pantone's colour of the year, but we didn't realize just how much it would soar.
Not just limited to a straight-up reddish-orange tone, the hue has been spotted in various interpretations, but when worn around the eyes, it has more of an edgy quality about it. Take Solange Knowles, for instance, who applied tangerine shadow and lipstick for a bold yet cohesive effect. Then there was Leelee Sobieski who stirred things up even more, her vibrant red lip colour lending an added pop to her orange sherbet-shaded eye look. For Dakota Fanning, though, it was all about ethereal style, as she offset her halo-esque headband with coordinating shimmery gold and apricot eyes. In the immortal words of the Brady's, "It's a Sunshine Day," indeed.
Some stars may have an entire coterie of stylists and makeup artists around at all times to keep them looking perfectly primped. But you might be surprised to hear that some very important and famous people often go solo when it comes to doing their hair and makeup.
