Liquid eyeliner is always a go-to for makeup artists creating red carpet and runway looks, but in reality it can be a tricky skill to master. You've probably heard countless tips and tricks for getting the technique right — from using sticky tape as a guide to using a light-coloured pencil to "sketch" where you want your line to go — but I recently heard a great, easy-to-follow trick that doesn't require lots of practice or any additional products. It comes from Chase Aston, the International Makeup Artist for The Body Shop who has worked on everyone from Kate Moss to Cameron Diaz. His simple advice for nailing liquid eyeliner? Break it down. Using a product such as The Body Shop Liquid Eyeliner ($25.95), "draw five dots [along the lash line] and use a concealer brush to blend together." By breaking it up into five seperate sections the chance of wobbly lines is greatly reduced. Then, if you wish, you can add a gentle flick at the outer corner of the eye to turn it into a winged eyeliner look. Don't forget to have fun with colour, too!
