Delta Goodrem prepared for a rainy Sydney week with a big umbrella, while Jesinta Campbell and Stephanie Rice made it out of the wet and into a cosy cinema to watch the premiere of The Great Gatsby in style. Erin Gleave (née McNaught) soaked up the sun and beautiful views on her honeymoon with new husband Example, and Lincoln Lewis attended the Million Paws Walk in Brisbane and was stoked to see a pup dressed in a hot dog costume!

Fresh from wowing international press on the red carpet at the Cannes Film Festival, it wasn’t long before Megan Gale was back in front of the cameras after returning to Australia. The model, in Dion Lee, joined her fellow David Jones ambassadors and a host of local celebrities to celebrate David Jones’ 175th birthday at a black tie gala held at the Sydney store last night. Perth-born beauty Jessica Gomes, who replaced Miranda Kerr as a brand ambassador a few months ago, stunned in a backless design, and Jason Dundas, Montana Cox, Gai Waterhouse and Emma Freedman — all part of the DJs family — all brought their star power to the event.

VIP guests including Delta Goodrem, Jesinta Campbell, Stephanie Rice, Rachael Finch and Michael Miziner, Charlotte Dawson and David Jones’ stable of designers witnessed the launch of a commemorative exhibition that celebrates the department store’s history. They also toasted the occasion with lots of champagne, canapés, and a dessert and cheese station.

Last night marked the 175th birthday for the iconic Australian retailer, David Jones. Many of our favourite Aussie beauties —including David Jones ambassador Megan Gale, Jesinta Campbell and Jessica Gomes — flocked to the black-tie, cocktail event to join in on the big birthday bash. Off-the-face hair and smoky, accentuated eyes were the trend of the night, paired with a glossy red or nude lip — timeless beauty classics!

It may have been raining last night at Sydney, but that didn't put a dampener on the glamour on show at Moore Park's Entertainment Quarter for the much anticipated premiere of The Great Gatsby. The official invitation asked "a hint of 1920s" from the A-list guest list, and deliver they did — some getting more into the theme than others. Leading ladies Carey Mulligan and Elizabeth Debicki took a more relaxed approach to the dress code, donning a Nina Ricci bustier and Lanvin trousers, and full-skirted floral Christian Dior respectively. Others, like Emma Freedman, Kerri-Anne Kennerley and Deborah Hutton, got right into character in flapper-esque dresses with plenty of sparkle.

The middle of the road approach looked the chicest to us; best exemplified by Laura Dundovic, Delta Goodrem, Kate Peck, Alice Burdeu and Jesinta Campbell who added who paid subtle tributes to the era via headpieces, antique lace, deco shapes or metallic fabrications. Special occasion days on social media have become an opportunity to whip out blast from the past photos, which is exactly what celebrities did to celebrate Mother’s Day! Aussie beauties including Rachael Finch, Jesinta Campbell and Ricki-Lee Coulter went back into their photo albums to express their gratitude for their mums.
