The news is just in that Tokyo has won the 2020 Olympic Games and guess what? It's only a one hour time difference for Aussies on the east coast and no time difference at that time of year for those on the west! For all Olympians, winning medals and breaking world records are achievements that will stay with them for the rest of their lives. Some professional athletes take the extra step of permanently marking themselves with an iconic sports symbol, the Olympic rings. We’ve noticed several Olympians with Olympic ring tattoos over the years — many are swimmers, but that may be because they have more skin on show — including Australia’s Eamon Sullivan, Stephanie Rice and Emily Seebohm. Early this morning we bid the London Olympics farewell as we watched the spectacular closing ceremony bring the Summer Games to a close. Millions of people around the world tuned in to celebrate the best of British music, with performances from acts such as One Direction, Annie Lennox, Take That, George Michael, The Who, and the much-anticipated Spice Girls reunion! Some of the girls shared their post-performance photos as they partied on. Meanwhile, other things that have been documented in social media pictures include Sally Pearson’s gold medal win for the 100m hurdles event, Usain Bolt’s haircut, and Stephanie Rice’s jaunts around the Olympics once her races had finished. In exactly one month’s time the 2012 London Olympics will kick off, and we’ll probably be spending every spare moment in the three weeks that follow glued to the TV cheering our Aussie athletes on. To mark the countdown, new shirtless shots of the Australian men’s swimming team have been released. Cameron McEvoy, Eamon Sullivan, James Roberts, James Magnussen, Matt Targett and Tommaso D’Orsogna were photographed on Manly Beach back in March in their Speedos, which means lots of six-packs on show! Eamon Sullivan is just one of three Australian athletes to land a beauty and grooming contract out of the 2012 London Olympics. As a major global partner of the Games, P&G — the company behind big-name brands such as Gillette and Pantene — is sponsoring the entire Australian Olympic team but has chosen Eamon Sullivan, Emily Seebohm and Sophie Edington to be ambassadors for Gillette, Pantene and Oral-B respectively. Explaining its involvement with the Olympics, Maile Carnegie, Managing Director of P&G Australia and New Zealand says: "While we are not in the business of sports, P&G is in the business of helping mums . . . Every Olympic athlete has a mum and mums are with their children every step of the way, nurturing and encouraging them." P&G even went so far as to survey the athletes about mum's support, finding that, between them, the mums have had over 5,000 early morning starts, travelled 6.5 times around the world and done 11,000 extra loads of washing to support their children's Olympic dreams. Wowsers! All the athletes said they're extremely honoured to be picked as P&G ambassadors, with Sullivan joking that the task of shaving his legs ahead of the Games will be easier, not to mention cheaper, now that he's part of the Gillette family!
We’ve brought you the best celebrity-endorsed bars, restaurants and hangouts from Sydney and Melbourne. On today’s agenda? Perth. Whether you’re a local or just visiting, there are some great food experiences to be had in and around the WA capital. Eamon Sullivan — Olympic swimmer, Cleo Bachelor of the Year and Celebrity MasterChef winner — shared his top Perth picks with us (one of them is his own exciting new venture!), so keep reading to find out what they are and share your favourite places with us in the comments!
Louis Baxters: According to Eamon, “Louis Baxters is my favourite place to hang out. It is basically a hip espresso bar, focussing on serving quality coffee first time and every time. Serving up gourmet delights that are a great twist of the usual breakfast and lunch cafe menus, from home made baked beans with chorizo, freshly baked muffins to eight-hour slow roasted lamb sandwiches.”
Louis Baxters, Shop 2, 50 Subiaco Square, Subiaco, WA, (08) 9380 4203.
Subi Hotel: Eamon says, “It’s a pub in my neighbourhood with a great barfood menu. It has a laid back atmosphere and I like the outdoor area to relax with friends.”

By gosh, if this doesn't get you amped up for Summer, we don't know what will! Speedo's bikini-brigade were all systems smiles for yesterday's Mercedes Benz Fashion Festival swimwear parade, hamming it up for the cameras backstage and looking hot-diggity in the process. New brand ambassadors Rachael Finch and swimmer Eamon Sullivan added some star power to the catwalk, which was jam packed with retro-printed onesies, cute graphic print 'kinis and sunset adorned boardies for the boys. Want to bask in the Speedo sun? Take a tour of the backstage shenanigans the girls and guys (yes, there's some serious eye candy ahead!) got up to at MBFF. Want to be part of the action? Enter to win a VIP pass to Saturday night's show!
Rachael Finch showed off her toned body in a variety of bikinis and swimsuits when she walked the runway for Speedo at the Mercedes Benz Fashion Festival yesterday. She was joined by swimmer Eamon Sullivan, who stripped shirtless to model some colourful boardshorts. Eamon joked on Twitter, “I need a tan!” to which Rachael responded, “Bronzing power works wonders!” Rachael also shared the secrets to her hot physique, saying she enjoys yoga, power walking and playing touch footy. The former Miss Universe Australia recently celebrated her engagement to her Dancing With the Stars partner Michael Miziner, though her diamond ring was absent from the catwalk. Eamon is also keeping busy with his other ventures — tonight he’ll be in Perth to launch his new espresso bar Louis Baxters, as well as his cookbook Eamon’s Kitchen.
Dani Venn has made MasterChef history by being the first contestant to ever win two elusive immunity pins in a series — Hayden Quinn had his chance over a month ago but was let down by a case of uncooked pork. The bubbly publicist competed against Olympic swimmer and Celebrity MasterChef winner Eamon Sullivan last night, where both had to cook Eamon’s perfect score dessert, a chocolate delice. Dani was given no time advantage but had the recipe, whereas Eamon had to work off memory. The judges awarded Dani 25 points for her dessert compared to Eamon’s 24 points — his dish had a great caramel flavour that Dani’s lacked, but the rest of her elements were better than his.
Was this challenge too easy, especially at the pointy end of the competition? Viewers took to Twitter to vent their frustration that Dani’s competitor wasn’t a professional chef, while the inconsistency between immunity challenges has been a big talking point this series considering the effect an immunity pin has on the competition. Some people were so disappointed that death threats towards Dani have become an issue. But let’s focus on last night’s challenge: was it too easy?
What with Lara Bingle's white-blonde Louise Brooks-style wig on Dancing With the Stars last night, Selita Ebanks quick hair hue switch-up and Glee's Dianna Agron ditching the blonde in favour of neon orange, we're officially on wig watch. Stars like Lady Gaga, Lily Allen and Nicki Minaj are big fans of mixing and matching their look, but now Aussies like Abbey Lee, Lara, Miranda Kerr and even Eamon Sullivan are getting in on the act, too! We've rounded up 20 celebs who we've spied faking it to make it . . . ch, ch, check it out! Have you ever worn a wig? What's your fave celeb wig look?
