Elle UK held their annual Elle Style Awards in London today, with a mix of Hollywood stars and British personalities making their way to the Savoy Hotel for the event. Many ladies chose bright colours and prints, including Pixie Geldof, who stood out in her chilli print dress. Alexa Chung, the magazine’s current cover girl, flashed a peace sign and wore a man-style outfit, while Jessica Chastain enjoyed her second red carpet night out after attending the BAFTA Awards on Sunday. Today she wore black Alexander McQueen and told reporters that when she was younger, she used her student loan money to buy a Burberry jacket! Sophie Ellis-Bextor had her baby bump on show in a polka dot frock, and Rosie Huntington-Whiteley’s long legs were on display in a sheer, mullet-style dress. As if yesterday's BAFTA Awards didn't supply enough British style, UK Elle further fuelled our style-stalking appetite by hosting the 2012 Style Awards last night in London. The usual suspects were in attendance (Alexa in Stella McCartney, Poppy in Mary Katrantzou, Pixie in Dolce & Gabbana and Rosie in Antonio Berardi), but there were a few new faces that impressed us with their stellar looks. Tallulah Harlech oozed effortless style whilst Tali Lennox got seriously glam. Take a tour of the best of British fashion inside!
Even though we're in the midst of New York Fashion Week madness, we're getting excited for next week's 2011 Emmy Awards! The majority of the stars look devastatingly beautiful for major awards shows but other times not so much. Of course myself, Pop and Fab will all be on hand throughout the event to keep you up-to-speed with the red carpet action, but in the meantime, let's take a look at Emmys past to see where some celebs stumbled with their hair and makeup looks.
Sydney played host to the world premiere of Johnny English Reborn at the Entertainment Quarter yesterday. The stars of the movie, Rowan Atkinson, Gillian Anderson and Rosamund Pike, walked the red carpet with director Oliver Parker and producer Chris Clark, while a one-of-a-kind Rolls Royce that features in the film was also flown in for the premiere. Rowan, who still has a sore shoulder after escaping a car crash in his McLaren F1 in early August, said he loved the Rolls Royce because it’s “tremendously torque-y, as we say in the car world.” Rowan revealed that his character, who first came to life in 2003’s Johnny English, has a lot more action in this movie, and joked that it should’ve been the other way around, considering he was younger and fitter eight years ago. He also said that fans who loved the first film should be pleased with the sequel: “We haven’t done something very different, but I think we’ve done something slightly better.”
Excited for the Emmys much? I am. With the broadcast of the 2010 Primetime Emmy Awards rolling around fast, it's flashback time. Most of the time, stars look beaut-iful for major awards shows, but other times, not so much. Of course, Pop, Fab and I will all be on hand live-blogging the event, but in the meantime, let's take a look at Emmys past to see where some stars stumbled with their hair and makeup looks.
