Handbag Confessions: What's In My Handbag

I waited three years to find The Bag.

I waited three years to find The Bag. I carried around a grossly oversized Country Road leather tote full to the brim with stuff I never used. Then, along came the Dolce & Gabbana Dory. In delicious mulberry. It was love at first sight and I vowed never to mistreat or over-stuff again. As a Sugar editor working across all the sites, I can be attending a show at Fashion Week for Fab one minute or sitting with beauty gurus at a product launch for Bella the next, so I always need to be prepared! But I'm a pretty simple gal, especially when it comes to colour. I'm a firm believer in buying classic items that won't age, click through to see for yourself...

Handbag Confessions: What a Sugar Editor Carries in her Handbag

I recently downsized from a back-straining carry-all to this mid-sized See by Chloé bag, and it has without a doubt changed my life. Believe it or not, the contents pictured here are a big improvement on the hoards of just-in-case items I used to lug around on a daily basis. As publisher of the Sugar sites, my days can take me from desk, to meeting, to function with little warning, so it's always best to be prepared for every occasion, right? For today's Handbag Confessions post, you'll get a closer look at my choice in everyday beauty essentials, the multi-coloured tech products I can't live without (for work and play), and a few designer goodies which are both functional and stylish. One word to describe the contents of my handbag?

One word to describe the contents of my handbag? Eclectic. A day in the life of being PopSugar editor includes researching stories and writing posts at my desk, running to functions, attending after-work screenings and premieres, or covering celebrity events and parties. That means having a variety of essentials on hand, ranging from recording devices to beauty products to reading material — no wonder I need such a massive bag to carry it all around in! So if you’ve ever wanted to know what a celebrity editor’s must-haves are, now’s your chance . . .

Don’t forget to check out what FabSugar ed Ali and BellaSugar ed Sarah carry around as well!

I may not carry around as many bags as Fab — her record was six during Fashion Week — but my Mulberry Alexa is often full-to-the-brim.

I may not carry around as many bags as Fab — her record was six during Fashion Week — but my Mulberry Alexa is often full-to-the-brim. More often than not with beauty products! From essentials to just-in-case items, I always make sure that I carry at least one lipstick, probably two balms, bobby pins, hair elastics. It soon adds up! But you never know when you might need it. I've been sat at my desk when a TV crew have called and asked if we can do a segment on budget moisturisers. Had last-minute interviews with beautiful women thrown upon me. And of course the inevitable, decided to go straight from my desk to the dance floor. In short my bag is my life. It's where all of my can't-live-without items are. So if you ever wondered what makes the cut in a beauty ed's bag, just keep reading.

Confession time: my friends call me 'the bag lady' more often than I'd like to admit!

Confession time: my friends call me 'the bag lady' more often than I'd like to admit! It's not unusual to see me toting two, or sometimes three, bags on any given day — true story. One handbag, one gym bag, and sometimes a smaller tote for my heels/scarf/random bulky items that I seem to collect. Whether I'm dashing to an after-work function, attending a new season collection showing, interviewing a bonafide style icon, or surveying the latest in-store drops (for work!), the contents of my handbag has me prepped for anything that a standard FabSugar day may throw at me. It's a hefty haul, but I need every single item. Promise! As if you don't do the same. . .
