In the space of a few short years, Steve Peacocke has gone from unknown to Home and Away golden boy and Gold Logie nominee. Now he’s following in the footsteps of his fellow Aussie soap stars to take on Hollywood — but Brax fans, don’t worry, because he isn’t leaving the show just yet. Steve has been cast in the supporting role of Stephanos in Hercules: The Thracian Wars, which will be directed by Brett Ratner and co-star Dwayne Johnson, John Hurt, Ian McShane, Joseph Fiennes and Rufus Sewell. In a statement Steve said, “This is an incredible opportunity for me to experience film on a massive scale, work with a world-class director, actors and two of the biggest studios in the world. I’m grateful [Channel] Seven is allowing me time out to get a taste of that world.” In an interview with Yahoo7, Steve said he put down an audition tape for the role and met with the director, producers and writers over a weekend.

Two weekends ago, Luke Mitchell and Rebecca Breeds got married in a gorgeous wedding held at NSW’s Kangaroo Valley Bush Retreat. They shared photos of their special day exclusively with New Idea, which is on sale now. The Australian TV couple, who met on the set of Home and Away, wanted to treat their loved ones to an “into the wild” experience. Rebecca says they chose the open-air chapel for their nuptials because “it reminds me of A Midsummer Night's Dream. It’s a different kind of church, with God in nature.” The bride wore a custom-made Steven Khalil gown and flowers in her hair to match the theme while Luke looked handsome in a Herringbone suit. Johnny Ruffo, the singing, dancing and presenting Aussie superstar in the making, will soon be relocating to Summer Bay — as in, becoming a bona fide Home and Away cast member! The West Australian has been slated to star in 16 episodes of the popular soap, and has apparently already started filming. It's just another notch in this quadruple-threat's entertainment belt — he placed third in 2011's The X Factor Australia, won Dancing With The Stars earlier this year, has released two singles and presents segments on The X Factor. Now, with the Home and Away gig taking precedence, it looks like Johnny will be busier than ever! We can't wait wait to check out his acting skills — congrats, Johnny!

Rebecca Breeds is the latest Home and Away star to spread her wings and try her luck in the US, and she’s already found success by landing a lead role on a new CBS sitcom. Rebecca, who’s in the middle of planning a wedding with former co-star Luke Mitchell, will star in a single-camera comedy pilot as the daughter of Monk's Tony Shalhoub. Her character, Julie, has been described by TV industry website Deadline as “Frank’s adorable, independent and neurotic daughter who is trying to get her act together and get over her major daddy issues due to Frank’s less than stellar parenting.” Her other announced co-stars are Chris Smith and Kal Penn. After years on the long-running soap and her dramatic exit on Home and Away we can’t wait to see Rebecca in a comedy!

Samara Weaving is joining the ranks of Australia's most beautiful, signing on as the Bonds Youth Ambassador for the Summer 2012-'13 campaign. Not that the Home and Away star has any troubles measuring up against the likes of Miranda Kerr, Shanina Shaik, Rachael Taylor and Catherine McNeil, looking totally at ease and effortlessly sexy in the colourful mix 'n' match collection which is due to drop instores this month. We took the opportunity to pick Samara's brain on her all things style. From Alexa Chung to Josh Goot, see what she had to say. . .

  • What’s your Bonds style? That's a tough call! Bonds has so many great active wear designs, but I think I'm a hoodie-loving, hipster-brief-wearing kinda girl!
  • How would you describe your personal style It’s hard to pinpoint as my style tends to evolve depending on how I feel or where I am going. I tend to stick to a lot of black (because it's always safe!) and add a bright or patterned accessory. I like classic pieces with a bit of edge I have a great mix of higher fashion pieces and basics.

Luke Mitchell and Rebecca Breeds Are Engaged!

Get ready for a real-life Home and Away wedding — Luke Mitchell and Rebecca Breeds are engaged!

Get ready for a real-life Home and Away wedding — Luke Mitchell and Rebecca Breeds are engaged! Luke, 27, tweeted early this morning, “Ok so in response to Beyonce... I liked it, so I put a ring on it!” The cute couple have been dating for a few years and are often seen at red carpet events together. Art also imitated life when they shared an onscreen romance on the show (they portray Romeo Smith and Ruby Buckton).

When we caught up with them at the opening of Marquee Sydney at the end of March, Rebecca, 24, told us of her plans to whisk Luke away on a romantic trip for his birthday, and that’s where the proposal took place! Luke told New Idea, “Honestly, it was one of the most difficult things I’ve ever done in my life. I had the element of surprise — I didn’t tell anyone what I was planning, not a soul, not even my parents. But pretending there was nothing special on my mind for three months before I actually asked her to marry me — that was the best acting I’ve ever done!” Congrats to Luke and Rebecca!

Esther Anderson Radiates in Alex Perry at the Logies

Esther Anderson looked gorgeous at the Logies this evening.

Esther Anderson looked gorgeous at the Logies this evening. She walked the red carpet in a white Alex Perry gown. It’s a big night for the former Home and Away actress, who is nominated for the Gold Logie and most popular actress. Her character, Charlie Buckton, may have been killed off earlier this year but there’s still a lot of love for the actress, who brought her mum to the event. What do you think of Esther’s look? Weigh in on Fab and Bella’s polls.

Channel Seven Celebs Go Sans-Stylists for this Year's Logies

It looks like Channel Seven's stable of stars will be have to rely on their own styling skills when they walk this year's red carpet at the Logie Awards.

It looks like Channel Seven's stable of stars will be have to rely on their own styling skills when they walk this year's red carpet at the Logie Awards. According to the The Sydney Morning Herald, the television network will not be providing the usual "army" of stylists to ensure their celebrity nominees land on best dressed lists. A Channel Seven representative defended the decision, saying "We either had to cut how many people we sent to the Logies or find savings elsewhere, and we did not want to deny anyone the chance of going.'' The move may save substantial costs on couriers, insurance and stylist fees, but the standard of style on show may suffer. Esther Anderson and Jessica Marais both did their network proud last year but we have to wonder if their frocks will be as fab, sans-stylists. Do you think celebrities deserve a stylist for such high-profile events, or should they sort themselves out?
