Jen was rocking her signature soft waves at the LA premiere of Valentine's Day (are you as excited about that film as me?) on Monday night and the soft, romantic look would be perfect for the real Valentine's Day, so we got the low down on the ins and outs of the style from the man who created the look, Frédéric Fekkai stylist, Adir Abergel.
"First," Adir says, "prep the hair by applying hairspray at the roots. Next, blow-dry the whole head with your hands to create texture and bring out the natural wave. Follow by taking a round brush and blow-drying the bangs forward and to one side.
Usually I like to see what Jennifer Garner has to offer on the red carpet. We're so used to seeing her running around after the kids that it's nice to see her all glammed up; but I don't know, this look just felt kinda dated to me. The big hair, big earrings and light brick lip, I just feel like I've seen it all before and it wasn't all that flattering then. What are your thoughts? Is this Garner's best or just so-so?
You've cast your eye over 2009's best hairstyles, now it's time to trek back even further to the best hair and makeup moments of the noughties (save for 2008 when the writer's strike got in the way).
And January, just in case you're reading this thinking, hang on a sec, my coral lipstick from last year was totally rad, why haven't I made the cut? It was (it still is) but we said that yesterday so we didn't want to say it again just in case you're getting all jittery wondering how on earth you're going to top it this year. BTW how are you going to top it?
Before any guys reading this think I've gone in for a little Shag, Shoot or Marry, let me point out that the bangs I'm talking about are of the fringe variety.
See the following lovely ladies have played around with a fringe recently—admittedly, some to better effect than others. But now's the time to vote . . . who looks best with a bit of banging action going on and who has failed to play up their fringe benefits?
Blue might just be having a moment. From oceanic polish colors to recent avant-garde looks we saw on the runway in New York, perhaps there is a slight resurgence of the cool-toned shade as of late. Do you think that blue is cool but don't want to run the risk of looking totally '80s? Let's look at Jennifer Garner for inspiration. At the LA premiere of The Invention of Lying, Jennifer proved that blue doesn't have to look outdated or aging. The actress, who wore a smoky, muted version of the tone, paired the look with complementary pink cheeks and lips, keeping the palette from becoming too Smurfy. To find out how to wear blue eye makeup in the most sophisticated of ways, just keep reading.
Kellan Lutz jokes around with the paparazzi on his way back to Vancouver to film Eclipse, plus the latest role for Twilight star Cam Gigandet and some updates from New Moon.
