This morning, we were all crying into our coffees over last night's TV death of Patrick from Offspring — how could you not feel the pain of his leading lady Nina (played by Asher Keddie)? We've loved Nina from day one of the Aussie drama, for her neuroses, down-to-earth attitude and, not least of all, her casual approach to beauty. A slick of gloss, some mascara and a ponytail? That's our girl, and we wouldn't have her any other way! Click through to see some of our favourite female characters of all time, and the hair and makeup looks that made them instantly recognisable.
Packed to the Rafters comes to an end with two episodes airing tonight. It debuted in 2008 and dealt with the issue of adult children moving back in with their parents, and since then it’s tackled a huge range of other topics including abuse, mature age pregnancy, unemployment, infidelity, death, dementia and more. The successful and much-loved Australian drama also introduced rising stars Jessica Marais, Hugh Sheridan and Angus McLaren to the public, who worked with TV veterans Rebecca Gibney, Erik Thomson and Michael Caton. And if you’re worried about saying goodbye to the Rafters for good, take solace in the fact that there’s a chance the family could return in another form. To mark the end of the show we’re recounting the 10 big moments that got us talking during its six-year run — click through and get your tissues ready for tonight.
Packed to the Rafters airs tonight at 8:45 p.m. on Channel Seven. For more Rafters also check out Zoe Cramond's interview on POPSUGAR Beauty.

Jessica Marais got to work on the new ABC1 telemovie Carlotta on the show’s Sydney set today. The actress will portray the titular character, the famous Les Girls headliner Carol “Carlotta” Byron, who was born a boy called Richard but always felt like a girl trapped in a boy’s body. Carlotta, who is acting as a story consultant on the drama, had a big hand in the casting of Jessica. She told the Sunday Telegraph, “I wanted her. I was a fan of the Rafters. They were making suggestions and I said: ‘I know who is perfect for the role,’” citing Jessica’s physical resemblance and voice. Today Jessica got into character with dark eye makeup and a wig covering her darker hair — for her part she said she was “humbled” to be given the role.
Television's night of nights is taking place this Sunday, but before we see the latest lineup of stars hit the red carpet, we're focusing on what's arguably the most important part of the Logies: the hair and makeup. More specifically, the best beauty looks from some of our all-Australian golden girls. This year, gorgeous blonde TV presenter Carrie Bickmore is in the running for the biggest award of the night — The Gold Logie — but no matter the outcome, she's always a winner on the red carpet. From her shiny, voluminous hair, to Kate Ritchie's navy smoky eye and Rebecca Gibney's ageless beauty, the best looks are lined up here for you to peruse. Click through to check them all out, and stayed tuned for when we bring you all the action as it happens on Sunday night!
With the wave of celebrity betrothals last year and this year (already!), it looks like we've got a lot of weddings to look forward to soon. Jennifer Aniston was one of the biggest names (and most hotly-anticipated) to confirm an engagement, and the huge ring that Justin Theroux presented to her made his feelings very clear indeed. Olivia Wilde and Jason Sudeikis announced their engagement in January of this year, and her ring is one of the most unique we've seen. We also did some drool-inducing research so you can check out the best rocks around, from Princess Grace of Monaco to the Victoria's Secret angels, plus Aussies Miranda Kerr, Rachael Finch and Jen Hawkins. And if the man in your life needs a subtle nudge (or kick) in the right direction, why not pass the link on . . .

The biggest celebrity news story to break in the last week was undoubtedly the cheating scandal that has rocked Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson. Kristen was caught cheating on Rob with her Snow White and the Huntsman director Rupert Sanders, and just days before the story leaked she was at the Teen Choice Awards with her on- and off-screen Twilight boyfriend. In other A-list outings, it was a big week for Hollywood babies! Jessica Marais and James Stewart hit the shops with two-month-old Scout, while 1-year-old Harper Beckham enjoyed a London lunch with mum Victoria and dad David. Katy Perry also made the most of a sunny Miami holiday, lounging poolside in a black bikini. There were plenty more screenings, parties and baby-filled strolls — step inside to see them all.
Jessica Marais and James Stewart took their baby daughter Scout shopping for some groceries in Sydney today. The two-month-old stayed close to her mother, who affectionately kissed her head, in a baby carrier, as James toted nappies and the rest of their shopping. The former Packed to the Rafters stars, who are engaged, said that they were going to move to the US with baby Scout so Jessica could resume work on the second season of Magic City. Jess said she would healthily lose the baby weight she’d put on as her sexy role in the series involves nudity, but she revealed that she’d only gained 7kg during her pregnancy due to healthy snack cravings. The family debuted their dark-haired girl in Who a week after she was born, and also shared the inspiration behind her name.
Proud new parents Jessica Marais and James Stewart have shared the first picture of their week-old baby girl with Who, which is on sale now. Scout Edie Stewart was born in Sydney on May 9, and Jessica and James revealed the story behind how her name was chosen. Jessica said, “To Kill a Mockingbird is one of my favourite novels, my mum brought me up reading it, and it never fails to move me.” It’s also a tribute to her late father, Tony, because Atticus Finch, Scout’s father in the novel, reminded Jessica of him. They also liked the name because it worked for a boy or girl, and the engaged couple, who met on the set of Packed to the Rafters and shared an onscreen romance, had decided to keep the gender a surprise until the birth. Physically, little Scout bears a strong resemblance to her father but James said she has “her mum’s lips and my nose.” Congrats to the family!
