It might only be Crown Oaks Day today but yesterday we get a little taste of what's to come at the VRC Oaks Club Luncheon. International models Kate Upton and Coco Rocha hit the pink carpet in dramatic cream and black ensembles — quite different to their red-heavy Melbourne Cup outfits — and kept the crowd charmed with their big smiles and friendly nature. Local stars Kyly Boldy, Kate Peck and Dami im were also on hand, and the crowd was treated to a performance by iconic singer Belinda Carlisle. Held at the Crown Palladium in Melbourne, the luncheon is a long-held tradtion that celebrates Spring Racing in a slightly more formal way. Today, we'll be seeings a who's who of stars stepping out to celebrate Crown Oaks Day — stay tuned for live coverage of the event!

Michael Clarke received Australian cricket’s highest individual prize when he was honoured with the Allan Border Medal for the fourth time last night. Following in the footsteps of Ricky Ponting, Michael is the only other cricketer to have won the Allan Border Medal four times. The Australian captain said in his emotional acceptance speech, “Tonight's probably the only night through the year that you get to reflect on what's been a great 12 months for the boys from the Australian cricket team. Reflecting on Ricky and Michael Hussey's retirements, to see Glenn McGrath . . . it's a build-up of a lot of things to be honest. But it's unlike me and hopefully you never get to see that again.” By his side through the whole event was his wife, Kyly Clarke, who wowed on the red carpet in a white J’Aton gown with sexy cut-out details. Inside the Crown Palladium the couple got cute and shared kisses and hugs throughout the night. Before the ceremony started Kyly was also snapped in a candid moment fixing Michael’s tie. There was plenty of red carpet style on show last night when Australian cricketers and their partners attended the 2013 Allan Border Medal at the Crown Palladium in Melbourne. Michael Clarke may have been the man of the moment, winning his fourth Allan Border Medal, which is Australian cricket’s top individual prize, but in the style stakes all eyes were on his wife, Kyly Clarke, who made her entrance in a striking white J’Aton gown with cut-outs and a gold belt, adding colour via a bold red lip. Also dressed in J’Aton was Rebecca Judd, who wowed in a heavily embellished and netted creation from the Melbourne design duo. Pregnant Lee Watson (née Furlong), who is eight months along, dressed her baby bump in Johanna Johnson, Ricky Ponting’s wife Rianna chose Steven Khalil with Cerrone jewellery for the occasion, and Sara McGrath kept things simple in red on the arm of her husband Glenn, who won the first ever Allan Border Medal. It was cricket's night of nights down in Melbourne last night, and the wives and girlfriends of the sport's finest players put on their very own beauty pageant during the red carpet arrivals. WAG of the moment Kyly Clarke, looked sporty-chic in white, and went with a bold(y) red-orange lip and soft waves — a popular look for the 2013 awards season in the US. Lee Watson (née Furlong) wore a very gorgeous Johanna Johnson jewelled headpiece, and hair on the side made a few appearances, too. Click through.
Kyly Clarke's path to Aussie fashion icon status is getting clearer by the minute, with the latest development being that she's been named the face of new fashion label, Boutique@hs. The brand, a branch-out effort from famed Australian department store Harris Scarfe, features what Kyly calls "perfect high-street fashion". She says:
"I was drawn to the Boutique range for its sleek styles and sheer wearability. I'm always on the lookout for perfect high street fashion — affordable pieces I can wear with my splurge items."
Considering Kyly was yesterday spotted heading to her first photoshoot for the label with uber-stylist Christine Centenera and famed photographer Simon Lekias in tow, we can safely assume that this is going to be one killer campaign. Congrats, Kyly!
Lots of Australian stars made their way to the Hordern Pavilion for Myer’s Spring/Summer 2012 collection launch last night. Runway star and Myer ambassador Jennifer Hawkins glittered in gold sass & bide on the black carpet, keeping her appearance short and sweet so she could get ready for the catwalk. Kris Smith looked smart in a suit — and showed off some facial hair — before revealing his shirtless physique to model upcoming men’s Summer fashion. Laura Dundovic and Laura Csortan matched in metallics, wearing Jayson Brunsdon and Manning Cartell respectively, while Jesinta Campbell was glowing in floral Manning Cartell and excited to talk about her recent trip to LA, Vegas and Mexico, telling us, “It was so much fun. It was funny — there was a write-up the other day about the tan, and they said how fake it looked and how shocking it was. And I said, ‘Let me tell you, Mexico does not come in a can!’” TV stars were also well represented, with The Voice’s Emma Birdsall, Sarah De Bono and Darren Percival, MasterChef’s Andy Allen and Ben Milbourne, and Sunrise’s Melissa Doyle and David Koch attending. One of the best moments at any fashion show is the front row arrivals. It's such a treat to see our favourite celebrities all primped and preened, and looking their best. The beauty looks on show at last night's Myer Spring Summer 2013 Collections were very scrumptious, with the likes of Jennifer Hawkins, Jesinta Campbell and the amazing sass & bide girls, Sarah-Jane Clarke and Heidi Middleton, looking so bronzed we wanted to run away to a very stylish island with them. Miranda Kerr was front and centre on the runway during last night’s David Jones fashion launch at the Elizabeth Street store in Sydney, and plenty of Australia’s biggest stars turned out to see her in action. The front row was awash with glamorous couples, including Jodi Gordon and Braith Anasta, Terry Biviano and Anthony Minichiello, and recently-married Kate Waterhouse and Luke Ricketson, who were all seated next to each other. Lara Bingle kept her style low-key, but still sexy, in a black dress with sheer panels, and while Kyly Clarke, the wife of her ex-fiancé Michael Clarke, was also there, the two apparently didn’t cross paths. Swimwear designer and David Jones ambassador Megan Gale looked statuesque in a floral strapless dress, Everybody Dance Now dance master Kelly Rowland made a surprise appearance, and models Montana Cox, Samantha Harris and Jessica Gomes managed to fit in a quick photo on the media wall before joining Miranda on the catwalk.
