There were so many big events that had celebrities tweeting and Instagramming all around the world, from the Cannes Film Festival to Australian soirees. Delta Goodrem prepared for a rainy Sydney week with a big umbrella, while Jesinta Campbell and Stephanie Rice made it out of the wet and into a cosy cinema to watch the premiere of The Great Gatsby in style. Erin Gleave (née McNaught) soaked up the sun and beautiful views on her honeymoon with new husband Example, and Lincoln Lewis attended the Million Paws Walk in Brisbane and was stoked to see a pup dressed in a hot dog costume!
It’s been an exciting week for celebrities on social media, with Easter and April Fool’s Day falling on the same holiday weekend. Lara Bingle got into the Easter spirit with a pair of shoes instead of bunny ears, while Jennifer Hawkins celebrated new life by meeting her best friend’s new baby. Lincoln Lewis reunited with his Bait 3D co-stars Alex Russell and Cariba Heine, and sisters Isabelle and Abbie Cornish took in a Lakers game, where they also met Shaquille O’Neal!

It’s been a huge week for celebrities in the lead-up to the Oscars on Monday, with heaps of Hollywood stars out and about attending pre-Academy Awards events. It’s also been a busy time for home-grown celebs as well, and they documented their work and play activities on social media. Lara Bingle returned from a trip to India and made a beeline for the beach, while Lincoln Lewis caught up with lots of former co-stars, including ex-Home and Away beauties Jodi Gordon and Tessa James. Hamish Blake and Andy Lee got competitive over their T-shirts, and the new crew of Australia’s Next Top Model — Charlotte Dawson, Jennifer Hawkins, Alex Perry and Didier Cohen — have been busily snapping the first week of production.
After Earth, director M. Night Shyamalan's upcoming post-apocalyptic film, is a father-and-son story, starring real-life father and son Will Smith and Jaden Smith. The two are left to fend for themselves when their spaceship crash-lands onto a mostly deserted planet Earth, which has been human-free for a thousand years.
There are two things that really caught my attention in this trailer: the first is Will Smith's strange, vaguely Southern accent that we hear as he narrates over the imagery of a lush, jungle-like version of our planet. The second is how much Jaden Smith has grown up. The adorable kid from The Pursuit of Happynessis a full-fledged teenager now, and I'm looking forward to seeing if he's inherited his father's action-star capabilities. We'll have to wait until June 6 to find out — another bonus: Lincoln Lewis co-stars! We're yet to have a glimpse of him — but until then, check out the preview when you read more.
There were many events that had celebs talking this week — whether it was the devastating end to a tween relationship, the announcement of this year's Sexiest Man Alive or the fact that iPhones have a mind of their own, our favourite stars were forthcoming when it came to sharing their opinions on Twitter. If they weren't weren't keeping up to date with celeb news, they were filling us in on their daily lives: Alexa Chung got stuck in a fun-sounding hole, Jesinta Campbell described her perfect night in, and Scott Dooley let loose on Ed Hardy tracksuits. It's all in here, and more, so click through the gallery and start reading!
There's been a lot of hype surrounding Bait 3D (in cinema today) and two of its main stars Lincoln Lewis and Cariba Heine. If you've missed it all, here's the trailer. And an exclusive sneak-peek. And a round-up of the rest of the crazy-good Aussie stars and plotline. But back to Lincoln and Cariba: In this robbery-meets-earthquake-meets-tsunami-meets-shark attack movie (bad day, anyone?), they star as Kyle and Heather, a couple who get stuck in their submerged car in an underground carpark after the tsunami hits. Throw in some excellent comedic timing, an angry shark and some-edge-of-your-seat action and you've got one heck of a plotline for these hot Aussie actors. We sat down with the pair to discuss the film and to say that they were charming and funny is an understatement. Bouncing off each other as if they'd been friends forever, the interview was more like a chat amongst mates as we found out what it was like filming in water for days on end, if the big cast really got along and who their dream co-stars are.
Tell us your own words what Bait 3D is about.
Lincoln: The movie is set in a coastal town, similar to the Gold Coast, and during the time of the annual shark migration, an earthquake offshore happens and it causes a tsunami to completely smash this coastal town. While the tsunami hits, a robbery’s taking place inside this supermarket — now, wait for it — something else gets washed into the supermarket… And that would be great white sharks. What more could you want, hey?!
This week on social media, we caught up with many of our favourite style and beauty icons as they went about their daily lives. Miranda Kerr led a packed yoga session (and showed off some seriously impressive moves!), Whitney Port hit Sydney to launch WE By Whitney Eve at Sportsgirl, and fitted in a photo-shoot with Grazia, Jennifer Hawkins had a session with hair extraordinaire Glenn Nutley, and reality stars Kim Kardashian and Lauren Conrad let us have a peek into their very different worlds. It's all in here, plus much more — they're a busy lot, those celebs — so get clicking, and enjoy!
Tony Gilroy, the writer and director of The Bourne Legacy (out Aug. 16), described his new leading man Jeremy Renner to us as “really badass and really tough,” and those traits were on display at last night’s Sydney premiere when Jeremy arrived on a motorbike! The actor joined some other riders during a pre-premiere stunt show in front of the State Theatre before meeting fans who had lined the streets to get a glimpse of him. He described his entrance as “cool. That was quite fun, wasn’t it? I had a good time.” The private actor, who takes over the Bourne franchise from Matt Damon and recently starred in The Avengers and Mission: Impossible — Ghost Protocol, doesn’t know what to make of his new status as a leading man and said, “I’m not quite sure what that means, to be honest with you. I’m fortunate to have a job. I like to work. That’s all I know about that.”
Jeremy also couldn’t pinpoint just one rewarding thing about doing the movie: “Look at the cast, look at the director we have, it’s great writing. It’s the most fun I had on two feet in a very long time. What’s not to love every day? It’s a great challenge and there’s something very gratifying about overcoming those challenges.” And despite his tough guy exterior, director Tony revealed that he was surprised about Jeremy’s “sweetness” when they were working together: “There’s a sweetness also that we needed to the character, there’s a nimbleness and flexibility about him . . . I was very surprised to see how much of that was there.” As for what Jeremy wants to do when he finally gets a break? “Sleep in my bed.”
Hot young Aussie couple Lincoln Lewis and Rhiannon Fish have reportedly split. The Sunday Telegraph says the TV stars — he’s currently on Channel Nine’s Tricky Business, she’s a favourite on Home and Away — went their separate ways last week, with reports Rhiannon broke it off with Lincoln after he’d returned from working on a film with Will and Jaden Smith in the US. They started dating in September 2010 and moved in together at the end of last year.
Lincoln and Rhiannon, who often appeared at red carpet events together, used to exchange sweet tweets, and on June 10 Rhiannon posted, “Miss you @linc_lewis.” They haven’t hit social media to address their relationship status but a rep for Lincoln said on the weekend that he was single.
